SAPE Finally Busted?

Sape may be dead, but sites with private blog network links still doing good.

I think people will be able to still use sape, but its about the footprint people are leaving, almost no measures are being taken to be safe. Any day of the week I would say that a private blog network is better (on english sites), but sape should still work under the right circumstance

I have 86 websites in top 3-30 for main KW, which have 80% of links from sape network.
How you can't understand, google or Matt can't kill sape, because it's mean kill seo with links. If you buy pr3 for 40 cents or something like that...sure you'll be penalize, be clever and everything will be fine. Sape isn't cheap solution but it works for about 5+ years well and will work more

the question isn't whether or not it works. the debate is the fact that google is clearly targeting sape and its network. is that worth it? when google goes after something they go after it hard. remember build my rank? exactly.

i would say hold off on using sape. does it work? yes. will it work long time? maybe. but i sure wouldn't put myself in a position that my sites are gonna see a penalty.

there are plenty of paid link vendors that aren't as targeted as sape. id go with those.

Yeah I can solve it with a 301 but I REALLY don't want to do that with this domain. Haven't had to do a reconsideration before (didn't care but this time I do). From what I read it's basically a waste of time for most, but I'll try it. Any advice to achieve success with it is highly appreciated.

dont waste time but do write off of they remove p. i'd give 0.5% odds of that.

I don't dabble in SAPE, but my ignorant guess is it looks like Google is starting to learn how to find websites that have been hacked with SAPE links, but their algo is imperfect right now and so some sites are getting hit, and some aren't. In time they'll probably get much better at being able to scape the internet and uncover hacked sites, and then see who they're linking to and punish them. So its kind of a ticking time bomb.

Why would you do a reconsideration request on SAPE links?

To my understanding, SAPE links are rented. Meaning, if you quit paying then the links disappear, thus your rankings will be fine as long as you build quality links and quit dabbling with blog networks. This was my understanding at least. Is there something I'm missing?

Yes, if a manual penalty is applied it doesn't just go away, it has to be removed.

^ Ah my bad, I was thinking the disavow links tool. Not sure why. A reconsideration request makes perfect sense

However, I've heard most of the time they just go after the networks. Not the sites using them. So it's usually all in the links.

Some are, but most, and at the very least a significant portion, are hacked websites. RUSSIAN MARFIA people. This is how they are adding websites so quickly.

All google has to do is sign up to the networks, see exactly what sites are selling links, and penalize those sites one by one as well as the outbound links. That's why some sites got hit and some didn't.

I find it hilarious that 99% of the time, webmasters do google's job for them!!!

All Catt Mutts has to do is post a video with plenty of FUD, then hire shills to go around forums posting "OMG I got banned" and done! Webmasters run to their stations to disavow links, report competitors and so on, even though those things are SEO suicide.....

also these hit people are the ones with low post count + new accounts or old unused accounts. I mean google as well might just change something affect the rankings and create a scene and apparently everyone buys that crap and stops working.

It doesn't have anywhere near the power it once has and yet providers are still charging the same fee.

Build your own link network and unchain your shackles from a network you can't control.

On SAPE:
Do not buy links in footer
Do not buy links on pages that don't rank by page title/h1
Do not buy links on sites that sell more than 2 links from internal pages.
Do not buy links on sites that don't filter anchors. Look for the sites without pharmaceutical and adult outbound links.
Have many different anchor texts and write around-the-link text.
Have at least 70% of your links anchor-less and brand.

Do not rely on SAPE links alone.



You'll be more or less safe. Blog posts with obvious commercial keyword anchors are more dangerous than SAPE links, especially on sites where each article has such anchors.

Haven't seen anything, monitoring about 20 sites with sape links. Some of them are connected directly, some through pyramids.
OP, I've seen such threads every week on russian seo forums, sape isn't dead and, to my mind, will never be dead, some of sites get banned, yes, but webmasters just built another 10 and drop previous. The only problem is that google doesn't really bother them, and they don't care if they have bans from google.

I agree, Sape has too many sites for google to shut down. Couldn't google simply don't give so much seo juice for sites in russian or sites that are in a different language than the original site?

Many **** it up with their anchor text and using a load of .ru and .ua domains. Brand/URL anchor text needs to make up the majority.

And Google doesn't penalise for PR links. Think about it, too many natural sites get plenty of PR links fast all the time. It's when 80% of the anchor text is 'best payday loans usa' that they slap you.

Yes it doesnt mean end of SAPE. SAPE is a really large network.
I am just saying that maybe Google is catching up and we have to look towards underground networks as SAPE cannot be considered a "secret" link network anymore.

When was SAPE secret? that network is one of the most well known...
