Godaddy Scam: $9,800 on Godaddy, $9.79 on Namecheap

I went to Godaddy to register a domain name, and Godaddy shows it as available for $9,800. So I went to Namecheap and bought the exact same name for $9.79...

Godaddy is a total scam!

Who cares? I would have cross checked anyway... I do not believe any of the registers to be frank..

yeah looks like it's because it is in auction. Take a look at namecheap and you will see that it is not available for register.ca1.jpgca2.jpg

Normally I would tend to agree with you, but since it is obvious that the OP
has in this case, already bought the domain, no harm in posting it now I guess,
because it helps provide authenticity to his / her opening post.

Although to be honest, this is a major issue which will not do godaddy's reputation any good.
 
Price discrimination. A ton of people don't know about namecheap and other domain registrars, so godaddy can price some domains that high and some less well versed will still purchase the domain for the huge sum.

i don't think it is important either, because we all know that "insurance" niche is profitable, but it is competitive too

So somebody really had to leave me a negative rep because i said it's unfair to reveal the domain name from the OP ? Well go f u c k your self who ever you are, the OP have purchased the domain to make money of it, BHW is full of retards and selfish people, and one day if the OP ranks his site on a good google position, somebody from here could send millions of spam blacklinks to his site and destroy it, or somebody is already doing it for self satisfaction...

BHW is getting like WF more and more every day...

let me explain

op searched on godaddy > godaddy checked cpc and exact searches > godaddy registered that domain> op got a price of $9k on godaddy > op got fucked > op not purchased it on godaddy > godaddy started a auction.


that is why i say never use godaddy they suck.
try name cheap they have good reputation.
 
I wouldn't trust Godaddy either. Didn't they support the SOPA act? I use NameSilo. No upcharges on renewals and free WHOIS for life. Pretty reliable. Although, they almost never have coupons available so that means no $0.99 domains.
 
I've seen domains priced in the 5,000-9,000 range before on godaddy and just assumed someone had bought it and was looking to flip it. I'll be using other domain registrars more often in the future that's ridiculous
