Just few minutes ago, an idea popped up in my mind about creating short URL for my page URL that appears in Google search results. So, I searched using one of my keywords and a post from my website came up on first page. I just right clicked and copied URL source link (Which was basically a google link with redirection to my post).

I then created a Tinyurl for it and then pasted on facebook page where I normally get huge number of hits to each post. Thereafter, I turned on Realtime Review in Google Analytics and witnessed that it started showing the visitors as "Organic" from "Google" for the specified post, which actually were coming from Facebook (As I shortened the Google redirection Link).

Now the question is,....can this be counted as a way to cheat Google? or you may say, Alexa? as this will all be noted as Google traffic even if the visitors come from facebook...

ALso, will Google ban my site for doing all this?

This cloaking method was already suggested previously in another thread, but was warned against. Google will prevent this from occurring in the future, either by fixing it on their end (verifying if the referrer ACTUALLY is Google I'd suppose), or by penalizing sites doing this.

I don't know how harsh Google would take it, but I doubt they'd be cheery to see people exploiting this and making a habit of it.

It's definitely cheating Google, and it's pretty obvious by now that they don't like being cheated... It could work in the short term but wouldn't bank on it long term that's for sure

See this all time with sites that don't want to be listed as referrer. They put the Google result redirect as the link.

On past 2011-2012 (dont remember) there is already a thread using this method.

I suggest you search that thread. :)
