FB Ads advice needed! Given $300 / Month Budget!

Hey everyone!

So I currently am working for a University in the USA as a Digital Media Marketing Manager.
That being said Ive never been a huge fan of facebook ads!

My boss came to me the other day though and has decided they want to invest $300 in Facebook ads every other month & want me to produce the best ROI possible.

I've been studying up on Facebook Ad's as much as possible, but before getting my feet wet starting in october I thought I would ask some advice from the community!

I plan to do CPC Standard FB ad split testing through "AdEspresso" with a daily budget of $10 per day for the final decided ad after a few days of testing.

Would you recommend a higher daily budget? How long should I run split testing? & at what daily budget per/ad while testing?

What would be the best way to increase my CTR?

My target demographic is 16-22, Male/Female, US, interest in "Beach,College,Downtown, christianity, university"


Please excuse my noobish questions! Again I've never been a huge fan of facebook ads but interested in learning any techniques or recieving any advice the community might be able to offer!

Their goal with these ads are an increase in Fans/Likes from users in our target demographic.

Get a compelling photo,ask a question in the ad title and follow up with a reason for the user to like your page in the description.Do this and you'll be hitting home runs daily.

Agree with abradabra. I've also found it useful to use the line 'Like' if you love TOPIC. So for example if you're going for Christians you can do one split test targeting people with 'God' (or something similar) as an interest and use the Headline 'Like if you love Jesus!' ... I find this method to be wildly successful. Also if you test and find a campaign that's a real winner. You might consider switching to CPM. That's my advice. Good luck!

Split test with many pictures. Pictures which stand out from facebook background. Like dark borders I choose CPC it suits me after running your ad check CPC cost it changes after people start clicking and set your CPC accordingly.

Make a Page drive traffic to your page, you will get likes and update your page with posts. If you drive traffic to your website people usually close it after 5 seconds if they dont like it.

Something that will draw attention and doesn't look professional. As weird as it sounds people click on poorly designed image ads way more that anything professional looking. Think outside the box. You'll figure it out with testing, but human faces work the best. Clevage works. Look at what your competitors are doing. An ad that I used successfully one time said something like '10 Fat Blasting Foods' And it was a picture of woman eating chocolate cake. I also tested with other fatty food pictures like hamburgers and hotdogs. I believe that the fatty food pics peaked people's interest because they were obviously not fat blasting foods. Another one I did was 'Like if you love babies' and it was just a really cute stock photo of a baby. Had a high CTR on that.

how about daily budget?! Is $10 daily good to with my final ad choice?

What should the daily budget be on the ads while split testing? And how long is a good period of time to split test before optimizing the ads from the results? 48hours?
