I think there are no many but one other possibility is facedbook advertising. It has similar postpay advertising features as adwords . But I do not think its conversion
is any close to that of adwords.

I had a half-assed success with adengage, but you have to be careful where you place your ads and how they look like. It is good for attracting visitors and raising UV numbers, but there are cheaper and more convinient ways.

Adwords Content network.

I just started a new campaign, clicks usually EU0.12 or less.

Just run your KW through adwords KW tool, then get 30-50 of new, very related KWs, and use them as keywords in content network for your adgroup.

minute80: Which are the cheaper/more convinient ones in your opinion? I want to drive traffic to an affiliate (or landing page) .. but only with traffic that converts (if ever possible). No income from banner ads etc.

Cheaper and convinient ways are already discussed here, but generally is about generating visits through backlinking. Unless you have a highly prices product that you sell I would stay away from Adwords as well. So, to be exact, build your site, build its backlinks (ways to do so: use search on this forum), and then traffic will come.
For example, I had bought 12 USD per day campaign in AdEngage, my ad was truthful regarding the content of web page, and I had around 500 clicks. None of them converted. If I had bough two well written articles, I would have got more organic and sustained traffic, and therefore more converting and returning visitors.

I agree, Adwords is not worth the cost. People click and rarely buy.

I have had some great success with 7search I have also had some great success with adwords, msn and yahoo.

I am not sure what you are marketing but it really depends on the market(industry),product, and ad.

Just because I don't do well with adwords don't mean it is not worth it...It many not be the place to market for you product.

I see most people spend a couple of dollars and then give up...if you are really in business you will keep trying until you find something that works.

It's hard to get the kind of results you get with Adwords. I looked into Stumbleupon ads but wasn't satisfied with the premise of it.

I guess in PPC marketing, you get what you pay for. If you wanna traffic fast, stick with Adwords

I agree, advertise on Bing or Yahoo, they are much cheaper.

Honestly in my thoughts, adwords (and the like) are the lazy man's way of marketing - when there is so many better ways and uses for your money.

50 % profit from ppc with adwords at best is my results - - and its risky and its a LOT of work. Stay away from aldult adz like blacklabel adz etc. as for an alternative - there is none really - gooogles got it covered - allthe others I tried just dont get the traffic to bother with - Yahoo recently revamped tehirs but its not oo hot either. Personally - advertise the BH way - low cost same or better result - do BH seo etc
