The Ultimate Amazon Thread Mark 2 - Q/A - Good/Bad

Hey guys, I got a question about having similar niche related site on same hostgator shared host.

For example I will use computer niche. Lets say I have 6 sites:

netbookreviews.com
bestnetbook.com

tabletreviews.com
besttablet.com

laptopreviews.com
bestlaptop.com

Would I be penalized in any way, for having all these sites on the same server or if I make "guest post" links across them for better quality links?
I know I could just make 3 sites targeting 2 main KW each. Or even just make one site. But I'm curious to know if I could have 6.
Hope my example was good enough.

Thanks~

I made a simple UBOT for YLH for YouTube Views - and I use Kojaks for AMF

Let me say this on Putting 6 Similar targeted Sites on the Same Shared Host - everything I've ever read suggests this is a bad idea and worse still would be to link them together. I have dedicated hosting and 12 IPs - so sites in same niche I give them a separate account and a slightly different IP - sometimes its on same block sometimes not ... so at least there is some separation between them.

Niches not the same I don't think it matters ..... I personally have never done any testing on my own on this - but I have followed the advice you read on BHW the best I can - realizing I'm not going to go and buy 6 servers to run this project at this point.

This is following the same thinking as avoiding using Google Products with these Sites - if for some reason I get hit for anything - I want to minimize any damage to my earnings and be able to pick back up fairly quickly.

If you have a different view on this - then you can go with that -- I'm just taking some precautions I believe make sense.

I had a good question via PM this morning - what about links that don't get indexed and what about Web 2.0 that drop off etc ... I don't use any services anymore - I just ping my links and then run the important Links through my Social Accounts -- So If I make 20 PDF Uploads with Links - I just Tweet the links out during the day.

As far as Bookmarking where some Sites delete your work -- basically look at the ones that don't -- Make a Ubot Bot to post to the good ones that stick and just use those Sites in the future.

There is a little trial and error with any Seo you do as to what makes your work the most effective. You could also use something like Roboform to speed up the process if you don't have UBot.

Hope that all makes sense // All the best today .. cheers.

As far as how easy Ubot is to use to fill in forms etc .. basically it works this way.

You go to the Site you want to submit too ... then right click and select a Ubot Option

such as inserting text - text from a list or a standard username password or email

it can also use captcha services / proxies if needed

then you just keep going through the inputs till its done. (clicking buttons/hitting submit etc)

Maybe make an export file at the end with some data -- compile it with click of mouse

then its on your desktop to use over and over again ... if the site makes a change just update the Ubot File via an Edit to the Code

and your good to go again.

Yeah its not the most advanced programming you have ever seen - but it gets the job done -- you can go to YouTube and search Ubot if you need to see the videos.

If I owned Zennoposter I'd probably talk about that -- it's just UBot was available when I was looking to buy something like this a few years ago now. It's not just useful with this
you can automate any day to day work you do.

How much variation in rank should I be seeing? I have 3 sites all about a month old with 10 pages of content each and they cant seem to keep a consistent rank. 2 of my sites will appear around 20-50 for a day then disappear while 1 of the sites still has not ranked at all?

Each Case Is Different It Depends On A Few Things :

* Difficulty of Keyword your targeting
* How much your Content matches the Keyword
* How much of an Authority of The Sites Are Your Competing Against
* How aggressive you are with Seo
* How well you have structured your site - and what plugins you have and what they are doing.

So before you start a site you should definately be checking the Sites your competing against -- how old they are - how much of an authority they are -- how many links they have.... just basic things so you know how long its going to take you to get results.

With all that said there is no hard and fast rule - but I find after 3 months your Sites settle down - and you don't appear/disappear like you do in the beginning. Also you must be very careful about how much Seo your doing -- Seo must match the stage of where your Site is at.

For the first three months stick to a natural strategy : Social Bookmarks at Major Sites // Pr announcing launch of the Site inclusive of your main keywords // PDF Uploads with Links // An Article or 2 // Create Social Accounts - post your major content links in them or through them .. and perhaps post on fresh content on High PR Sites - comments manually --- and that's it ... don't start building major Web 2 networks and slamming thousands of links into them ... this is not natural for most Sites.

Not sure where to start with Seo at all -- > Why not go to the BHW BST Section -- look at the most popular services // what sites they are posting on // what PR they are // what their strategy is -- and what are the results people are reporting.

Then figure out how you can do this yourself --> Magic Submitter / SeNuke / UD or perhaps a custom bot in UBOT -- or can I hire a Bot Developer to code me up something custom just for me ....... or how can I do this myself manually.

You really do need to consider every alternative when looking at Seo -- and now you see why I compete at the lower level of Keyword - because I can rank quickly - the cost is lower - and I don't need to be doing huge Link Networks to get results ---> finally if I laser focus my site and have great content - it overcomes having to spend too much time doing tonnes of Seo.

I should note too that I have had a couple of people PM me and say their last orders from Natasha Nixon the quality has dropped off and the originality of the writing is dropping.

This is something that happens from time to time with any service - writers come and go - but its a concern for us - because alot of what we do is related to the quality of content that's on our Sites ... so if your not happy with what you get back -- 100% go back to her and see if it can be resolved.

Lastly I want to make a point that most people should realize ... The best quality content comes from someone who knows something about the topic and is interested in it -- buying 50 articles on 5 topics from an article service charging $6.25 an article is not going to get you the best writer in every case for your money site ..... this part is always an ongoing battle when your not writing it yourself. You can take steps to get the best quality back by providing a template or more detailed instructions for each article but obviously some people don't want to do that.

Anyway by now I'm sure you get my point ... check it / read it ---> Money Site Content needs to be good.

Cheers

Indeed.
Natasha Nixon does provide outstanding articles, at least the best I've ordered so far.
There are too many offshore writers (mainly Asia) which simply don't provide good enough articles.

So stop blaming and keep ordering from people who do/did a good job, that'll help them to keep providing quality

People stop using PrettyLinks to cloak your links. It is not allowed because Amazon demands that your user sees that they are going to the Amazon page (which they do not if they see they're going to yourdomain.tld/product-name). I've always figured prettylinks didn't matter for this and was not a big issue but recently Maecenas23 had one of his accounts banned for this, so watch out.

Going to be swapping all my links out today :/

Finding a good content source itself is a lot of work. Well at least for me.

I dont deal with big BST here on the forum. Content is the most precious thing you can have. -- I personally go on site like iwriter, and open a gig for the best rated writers. That content is expensive, I agree, but those guys know what they are talking about. They are not rewriting an existing article.--

Oh and another tip. If you are using my strategy, do not hesitate to message them once first article is done. Make sure quality is good. In the message, ask them whats their Gmail, saying that you have something cool to offer them and they should be really interested. I did it twice for 2 different niches and I didnt get banned. After that, you can negociate lower prices if you order good volume. It's all about your negociation skills.

cheers,

Yes - Good Points -- Summary : while Amazon overall is a simple idea to make money --> you have to pay attention to detail --> its not just slap a site together / throw some content / add some links / and hammer it with GSA or Scrapebox ... there is a process to making this work for the long run.

The first Site is the hardest obviously until you figure out how to put it all together - and know exactly what goes where and how to structure it the best you can .. and some of this comes with testing and tracking so definately keep working and the income will come.

Best of Luck Today.

I don't have the money for that yet, so I use average quality article. But I agree that high quality article is really the best strategy. Anyone stumble upon the article will not hesitate to Like, Share, or even give some linkback to it. Thus you don't have to worry about linkbuilding or social signal anymore.

Dammit Danny.... I don't know if I can find your posts as easily since you turned blue. I only wanted to comment on that and the fact that I have followed this thread since I found it a month or so ago.

I have never posted a question because there has been no need... it is pretty much all in this thread. Thanks for sharing this with us.

The commitment and especially the patience that you have shown with every post on this thread... I dont know how to say it, it just demands respect.

Anyways... Thanks for this thread and congrats on turning blue. Look forward to more posts from you.

Hey, thanks for the advice. But check this:

It seems that it's not about masking/cloaking links, but rather the manner you mask/cloak your link.

Cheers

That article is incorrect, pretty certainly (no pun intended)

I can assure you that maecenas23 is smart enough to have the "x is a participant...." on all of his sites, he just recently said that he has it in his footer and other places as well so it is not the issue.
Properly labeling won't help either, i.e doing mydomain.tld/amazon/product-name/ instead of mydomain.tld/product-name. Maecenas said that all of his links CLEARLY indicated that it was taking them to amazon.

I'm not entirely sure why this retarded policy is there, if you're doing it all in a legit way as explained above, but I'd honestly rather not take the risk over such a small thing.

Maecenas23 is still dealing with Amazon regarding the matter, lets hope they give him clear information regarding what's allowed and what isn't and hope he gets his account back ;)

Either way, I'm swapping all my links to the regular amazon link today :/

That's all I use - is the text link from Amazon .. I'm pretty sure most people realize that its a requirement to include the Amazon Statement on your website ... whether in the footer or set up a separate page for it - or both.

I used to use a separate page - but for a while now I've just been putting it in the Footer.

If you want to see examples just search a term and find an Amazon Site and see how they did theirs :

From the first line of your post I understand that you don't use PrettyLinks anymore either?

What's your stance on the situation?

Well It was suggested by a couple of people in the thread to use Pretty links - so I added it to the list of plugins at one point.

But my personal stance is - Amazon Text Link - No Follow Plugin.

I go by the Amazon Part - that they want to be able to see the link that generated the Sale on your Website.

(I don't find this confusing actually as to what they are looking for - but its hard to know why Macenas had some issue - because Amazon from what I have seen just quote everyone the same passage in TOS - which really doesn't answer the question - so most likely he will never know)

Basically they are not allowing SPAM / Cookie Stuffing or Letting You deceive the Website Visitor in Any Way via whatever means you may choose to follow ... they are trying to protect their Brand Name and Avoid LawSuits with the various Social Sites.

Very enriching thread. I understand Amazon only give 6% commission at top. If we sell high ticket item, we can really get the best of what they can offer. It's been a pleasure selling what young people needs for entertainment nowadays.

Thanks Danny for the information and the business ideas shared here. I have a site that ranked #5 four days ago and earned 6$ per day. But it got a google penalty and dropped in Google to position 160. I only added Facebook widget and 5 Amazon affiliate links to one article. I thought too many affiliate links would penalize the site, so I removed the links and Facebook widget to wait google take the penalty away. I checked it about 4pm, it still in 160. Is there anyway to recover it? I wanted to send url to you, but I'm a newbie in this forum and has no ability to send private message.
