And again, in general: Why can't I write reviews for my own books? I don't have to use my own computer, I could do it fropm a friend's computer, internet cafe or whatever.. how could Amazon ever find out?

While you can write your own reviews and it may yield highly positive results, it's dishonest and if you're caught it will really damage your reputation which is one of the most important things to develop when entering the Kindle business. You'll need to build a following through multiple publications to really see great results and something like this can seriously turn your audience away. Just take a look at this example.

I don't know about your specific novel, but series are definitely my biggest sellers and seems to be the biggest earners for all the Kindle people I know.

thanks, will give this some serious consideration.

The only thing is, once I start, if I cant ever find an ending to the story,
I cant leave people hanging, it will ruin a persons rep.

I think i have what it takes to keep the story going, but not sure I have what it takes to correctly write.

I read somewhere that even the best writers of fiction, usually have to have their content re written by others.
The proper way to write, you know the stuff we are taught in school.
My grammer and speech patterns are horrible.

Good job - that's the key. Adding new books to a series at a steady pace. Keeps the readers hooked and grows the fan base. Let us know how it goes.

Wait, so this "method" is simply to use a platform that will sell your books?
This would be very interesting for my dad - the last 20 years he has been a writer and created several books.

He earn a decent amount from local book stores and local websites.

Are you saying if I translate his books into English and publish them on this "kindle" thing (never heard about it before), he would make a ton of money?

I apologize, I haven't been on Skype much lately. I've been working my regular job so much. Anyway, you can write your own reviews if you're smart about it. If I were to do it, I would open another account from a library/internet cafe/ McDonalds/ etc. and download a lot of different free books. Then, download your own book. Don't just download your own books because that's too obvious. You can, however, download all the books from the same pen name because then it just looks like you're a fan.

Furthermore, you should wait a period of time between the download and the review. The reason people get busted for this is because they just make new accounts and do it from their own computer. Amazon has billions and billions of dollars. Do you really think you can easily outsmart them? Reviews are a big thing. One of my books was killing it in the free downloads, and the first day I got like 8 paid downloads. I messed up because I payed someone to edit it, and they did a horrible job. Turns out, the book was so hard to read. I had to go back and almost rewrite the whole thing. Well, someone left a bad review and my sales just dropped. I might sell one a day now on it. Which is why I need to get some new reviews to it.

At first my non-fiction was doing better, but I was writing it all myself and it was time consuming. Now I'm 99% outsourcing fiction and it's doing very well.

Thanks brother, similar story with me. My fiction book is 20,000 words, which seemed like enough as a number, but a lot of the other fiction pieces on Kindle are over 100 or even 200 pages. You dealing with anything as small as 20K?

You'll really want to make sure you include keywords in your description that you want to rank for. Focus on at least one or two that generate a lot of sales and work that into a solid description of the plot.

Oh I do that, but what else do ou guys put in the descriptions? Reading examples? Maybe even (fake) press reviews?


And got another question concerning the formating of the word file: I used space a lot of time in my word file, but in my Kindle document it doesn't have any space- Everything is just one huge block of text, which looks awful. How can I change that?

Cazzina, make sure you are hitting enter to start a new paragraph and tab over for an indention. Also, you need to be creating 3-5 chapters per 10,000 word story. So, to do that insert a 'page break' right after the last word of the chapter. Let me know if you need help with creating a Table of Contents. Did I add you on Skype?
