Payday loans uk cleanup and crap user experience left by google

So google have cleaned up the payday loan SERPS but what a load of shit they have left for people who actually want a payday loan, news sites and wikipedia they are handy if you need money fast to pay the bills.

They haven improved the user experience what so ever, they have made it worse, i bet the guys doing ppc for these keywords are making a killing becasue they have the only relevant sites on the page, perhaps that's how google wants???

Has anyone noticed these manual reviews in any other niches or is it just payday loans for now?

yeah, google was messed up until they took my advice for "manual review for payday loans on serps and no site can rank above wikipedia" which i posted in first page of http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/576969-payday-loans-matt-cutts.html
now that post was erased by i don't know who because it imposed too much risk for blackhatters, too bad google saw it and implemented it

Yea I check it quite regular few times a day and the odd time I see a blog.co.uk floating around, they just seem to appear from nowhere for a small amount of time then gone mostly using hacked links I track some of them in majestic.

They must be manually reviewing them quite deep in the SERPS because you can go for pages and pages now without finding one, a few weeks ago it was hard to find a site that want spammed to death..

Actually from what I've heard the PPC guys aren't doing too well due to the prices soaring due to all the competition, but Google is happy

Cutts is trying to pass off the fact that having all these news results is relevant, tweeted to him about that so will see if he responds.


I did see other spammy niches get cleaned up today as well in replica and pharma serps. Hopefully only one week left before this rollout is done and we can start rebuilding.

But I still see a mix - some authority sites, but also some niche/aff sites in the uk SERPS, so its not all doomed.


Surely google can't make anything a fixed manual review?


They must just go through and chuck out a few sites they don't like, then leave it along?

They did this a while ago for phone sex, you had to go almost to the tenth page of serps to find the "real" listings.

I've been using ghost rank the last 40-60 days for that niche. My ranking droped from the service. And in some period got 30 places down for a week and then got back almost to where they were... Quality will dominate, again.

The masses aren't very search savvy.

Moms and dads out there would have to see real low quality to notice the subtleties of the Google ad selling algorithm.

I had a feeling they began before that

There is a Google SEC filing somewhere that details their expedinture with manual search quality control or something like that.... Google's been hiring and spending millions of $ on manual reviewers for quite some time now...
