BlackHat approach to promotions on Kickstarter

My friend and I have recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for a project we've been working on. We're now trying to promote it and I was wondering if you have any tips/suggestions on how to do that "backhat style". It seems that everyting I found so far is a bit outdated, as Kickstarter has changed a few of its practices (they don't have likes anymore, for example). Either way, here's the list of what we've done so far:

1. We've ordered a few Fiverr gigs that offer pledges (by the way, if you have or know of a gig like this - please PM me, we found only a few);
2. We've sent out 150 emails to sites and blogs that might feature us (we're going also going to contact all of them individually);
3. We've sent out emails to all our contacts;
4. We've pledged ourselves to create a visibility of interest;
5. We've tweeted and shared on Facebook...

What else can we do?

I think it's essential to have your social signals and it's a bit too late to say but to have follower base before you started with kickstarter would have helped with this.


And if I was you I would register fb page asap under your project name before someone else does.

@Licious - we do have a FB page and we did do our homework. The thing is - that's just not enough.

@EveCarp - congrats on the 100th post However, I don't see how the FB page is going to be a goldmine. The actual Kickstarter page - yes, but FN page...

You really should have started advertising and hyping BEFORE you release it on kickstarter! 4-6 weeks of none stop marketing beforehand, and then updates every few days once it's underway. easy!

Well, we've actually did reach our goal. The problem is that almost all of the backers are corporate - people interested in advertising withing the game. We still have no media exposure. Any advise on how to do that?

you reached your goal,, congrats on that. You need to hire a pr company or do the pr yourself. Contact local news outlets, they usually love stories like this.
