Business startup plan - Replier are becoming a millionaire

I am a grass roots who is engaged in a small trading company, only 2 staff, my old brother and me, as a goofy like me, my salary only afford bills.


Currently, we bought some aftermark tablet computer from China and plan to promote tablet pc, i dream one day my tablet will popular as iPad and galaxy tab.


My initial plan is,
1.build a website to list tablet to do online retailing business
2.register social accounts to post news - facebook, twitter and the etc.,
3.advertisement on google adwords and yahoo, bing
4.list on ebay, amazon


I believe it's too simple and not enough, so i come here to refer to all of your guys - expert, professional.


Any suggestion, advise will be great appreciated, thanks for your answer and help in advance.

how will you provide repair work for the tablet? since its from china, the parts might not be available in local place of the customer. I had similar business plans like 10 months ago, before customs held my tablet samples worth $1000 because seller(from china) didn't mention correct details while sending it.

Aha, it's a good question, my brother knows electronic ,ic and soldering, he will responsibility for after-sell services, we had required spare parts from suppliers, if any defect units, customer will return for a repair or exchange.

So u solely base on online selling your tablet PC? There are so many well recognized and well known brands in the market how are you going to compete with them? Also it is a physical item and most of the consumers like to have a feel on it and tested it before buying, although it is true many electronics items are sold on Amazon, but hey that is Amazon. Not trying to discourage you, and your idea is viable, but do take note of other conditions when selling online. Good luck and all the best.

The one way in my eyes you can win the market and compete vs the other .. what's the word these type of tablets (unbranded/unknown) is to have a good community website and forum where people can download and update firmware and get other important information from. The main reason I wouldn't pickup a cheaper unknown/unbranded tablet would be due to having to debug it all myself in Linux to try and even repair it. I hope this makes sense. There is a demand for people to buy a tablet, and modify the firmware, or just have the option to - if your community website can provide "unofficial" support for this, you will be a step ahead. For example being able to plug in different USB devices and install drivers for them (bluetooth,wifi,dongles etc)

No seriously, do you really think a no name china tablet can compete with apple, Samsung, Sony, RIM, etc etc on the global market? Do you realize how good a product it has to be?

Does it have WiFi/3G? a camera? a large harddrive? A stable OS? etc etc etc...

What market are you going after? Maybe you could try with some third world country where they dont even sell ipads because of customs prices, and there are only bad tables like weird brands no one knows

You mentioned you want "your" tablets to become as known as iPad, how does this work out when it isn't your tablets to begin with?
How much money do you have to invest into the project? Are you planning on starting localy first and when (if) the time come expand to world?

There are thousand of others affiliates (and direct companies) that sell tablets, how will you compete with them to still get a profit?
