Hello,
Thank you for the time you took to ask question about our services and welcome among the Windows VPS world!
Here are the answers to your questions :
1) Windows! Straight forward and no wonders. Linux is great to host website that's for sure even better than windows in 98% of the cases. But when it comes to SEO tools, Windows is THE choice.
If you want to run SEO tools on Linux that are widely built for windows. You need to install a desktop (Gnome / KDE), then a remote desktop (VNC) and then an emulator (Wine) to be able to run a tool. And it remains emulation not genuinely meant for performances.
Moreover, as introduced in the OP post, our windows VPS are meant to be used for SEO tools. We keep the lowest load economically possible on all our servers to maximize the performance and that on a high end hardware.
2) A VPS is meant to run 24/7 and your access is just a window to it. When you close this window, your VPS keep running with the instruction you have given. So if scrapebox is running whether you access itor not, it will keep running until the task is completed.
3) You can access it from as many computers you please according to the following rules :
- 1 simultaneous user per session (you can create as many session you want) and the last to connect would disconnect the first connected.
- 2 simulteneous users within all sessions
If you want to run Scrapebox efficiently, a level 2 would be probably a good starting point giving the fact that windows is using at start up around 380MB of RAM so if you intend to be run scrapebox properly a little more RAM would be better.
Hostage,
I am new to VPS. And after reading through reviews would like to go for your entry level plans initially. So can you pl clarify some things? You may find this very noob, but it will definitely help me.
1. Windows or Linux - I will be using SEO softwares on the VPS. So does it make any difference in Win or Linux vps? My hosting is with & there I am using Cpanel with Linux hosting. So on your vps which would be better?
2. I am planning to run Scrapebox & couple of other softwares there. It is currently consuming lots of bandwidth & time in my office. Is it possible to save time & let the software sun continuously on vps?
3. Is it possible to operate it from 2 or 3 computers? See - I have only one license for Scrapebox. So I have to use it from there only. If i transfer it to vps would I be able to operate from different locations?
Thanks for your time. I am planning to go for Level 1 - Win or linux. I apologize if these are very basic questions. But this is first time I am going for this.
