The Ultimate Amazon Thread Mark 2 - Q/A - Good/Bad

Please remember when you make your site and your targeting buyer keywords

make sure that your content is accessable //// but equally important is to have text links and buttons in the article
so that you can make a Sale.

50% of the Site is its ability to sell - you can have a great site but if it doesn't make money - what's the point ?

We are not running a Charity here its a business .... so definately give your site a detailed run over when you get started
making sure to have the right balance - between great content thats well organized -- but also monetized sensibly.

cheers

My Thoughts :

* when you first make a site - it goes up and down - till it settles into a more realistic ranking - don't get too happy or sad - just keep working as its going to take 2-3 months to settle down
* your going to need to join Amazon.com and set up a plugin to handle that - I only market to USA Myself
* theres nothing wrong with 10 page sites - because if it doesnt sell you dump it - if you make 100 page site well its very hard to dump that if it fails
* conversion rate tells you if you need to change up something because really well optimized sites should at least sell at 10% if not more ... probably your text links/buttons and ways to click through to Amazon are not perfect yet.

You mean the conversion rate should be 10% for well-optimized site? I'm sitting at around 5% and can't seem to increase this. I have changed up a lot of things: button, text, image. Any suggestion on what else can be done?

Hello friends,

i am having trouble downloading hq product images from amazon, this is only for me or amazon stop it...... ?

** What Template are you using ? How many Reviews/Articles ? - Are You Using a Slider and Custom Images ?

** I just picked a random image and downloaded it no problem - I have before chosen a product where I couldn't grab the image - maybe it was just how it was loaded into their system.

I'm using Gonzo theme. Around 50 articles + reviews so far. Yes, slider + customer image. I got a lot of clicks but the conversion is around 5%

There's your problem/issue/reason .. you have moved beyond a typical site that I make - so your results are different than mine.

My Sites start at 5-8 and go up to 15 ish .. and my conversion rate typically is 13-16% sometimes more sometimes less but typically.

When you start moving into a different area/size then your going to have to figure it out by testing different things.... because your introducing more variables.

I have an authority with around 30 articles/reviews posts and my conversion rate is similar to yours. My items are higher priced, anywhere from $50 to $1000 and I'm getting tons of longtail keyword hits. My main tag/page just got slapped by G and went from #4 spot to the third page, this is killing some of my income but since I have so many other long tail keywords I'm still ranking for I'm still making a decent amount. This is one of the reasons why I like the idea of having an authority site. Diversity is key.

A few pages back I mentioned I was going to try to squeeze in another affiliate with a similar product...

Result Epic fail. After 100+ visits to the "other" affiliate ZERO sales, in that same time 6oo hits to Amazon with 8% conversion rate. I am going to stick with Amazon needless to say... :)

This thread has motivated me enough to start thinking of getting into this business. I am currently researching my niche but I am stucked. Most of the niches I have researched have good amount of searches, but whenever I come down to the EMDs, the get little or no searches at all. My question actually is that am I to rank for those main keywords or just rank for the little ones I found. Also some product keywords gets better searches than their niche keyword. This niche selection is something that sent me away initially to clickbank and youtube method, but I think I am tired of that now, I need a really better and reliable stuff. So here I come.
And thanks to you Danny for this thread...Been watching since the first season

If you want to track your buyers integration with your site, install wp heatmap plugin, it will show you where your users click on your site, and you can adjust it as required.

i found out that Natasha and her crew is more specialized in SEO articles, but not so good in Review articles, i was wondering if anyone knows any good review article seller. thanks!

Are you able to find out why your tag/page got slapped? Because of SEO you did or other on-page reasons. Yeah, agreed. Like you said, I had many long tail keywords hit too, which is nice. Were you actually able to sell items that are over 500? I haven't yet although got tons of clicks.

I have to agree with this. Ordered from natasha a bunch of articles and SEO articles tend to be good while review articles not so much.

* I can only download the smaller pictures not the larger ones also

* I would get a PLR Review and see how they do it - and rewrite it yourself/write new ones - or give to NN and tell her thats how you want it done.

Its hard for someone to just read your mind without specific instructions.

I agree, her review articles are very well optimized for the keywords you are targeting in the review. But they require a little work on your own end to optimize them to actually sell the items you are targeting.

They lay out a great foundation though, and at a great price. Take the time to tailor them the exact way that you want them to be.

Google is a funny thing...I set up an Amazon site a while back for a different method that was just a store front, used a plugin to load products with no reviews/SEO done for it. Forgot about it for a while then set up another site with all original handwritten reviews and pages I thought were optimized. Somehow the first site got a conversion the other day from some random Google visit. My second site still isn't getting organic traffic a month later. Maybe it has something to do with keywords...although I did research for both. Doh.

I am writing to file my progress. First off I followed Danny's first thread until it was closed and spoke to Danny through that time as he was kind enough to give me some feedback, and it honestly really helped.

Secondly, I am busy with other stuff so this has been a thing to do of an evening and I am slowly building it up as I go along. My results are posted below, and they are, in terms of BHW minuscule, however, one I have worked out how I got these orders, then I can start to build and keep it going. Looking through the whole thread I know that I get no-where near as many clicks as other people, and that is due to the traffic I am getting which is significantly lower.

This may be for a few reasons, I am putting it down to the fact that I want this to be a long lasting thing so am not plastering my sites with false SEO, I am organically trying to grow its reputation which although I may only get 15 visitors a day, they all are "Googling" search terms which I have targeted. Also, I am focusing on the UK market so am using Amazon UK.

Thanks.

Question Today on Seo :

My answer was simple - Seo is about everything not just one thing.

Simple Social Signals and accounts / PR / Bookmarking / Web 2 / PDF / Wikis / Articles

Google Alerts and commenting on Related Sites ..... If you just spam one thing then your not going
to get very far.

Also forget about doing too much in the first 3 months -- just start slow and build up - otherwise you risk Google
jumping all over you and that defeats the whole purpose of doing this.

** I know the money so far has been small - but you have gotten a few orders - just focus as you said on how your getting
them and how to grow your business ... also in the future look for higher priced products you really need to be getting
$3-$5 a Sale if not more --- if its at all possible..... what motivated me is when I see $70 $75 + Commissions - as that adds
up fast.

I got a pretty cool product the other day ... Logitech K810 Backlit Keyboard.

The main features are : 3 Bluetooth Connections - so it can attach to laptop / PC and Ipad - by just pressing the button on top of keyboard ((this is extremely good feature))
and secondly its Backlit Keys so at night if the lights off - its pretty easy to just type away.

Was $68 at Amazon a few days ago - its $99.99 at places like Staples.

Also bought one of those Evoluent Mice - ergonomic ones that are like $110 -- complete junk to be honest .. cheaply made - doesn't connect well and I'll be returning that today.
