Hey Danny,

Thanks for your cool thread I have nearly read everything, however I still got 1 question before I buy my domain + hosting. I know it has been asked before but I couldn't find it. I got a niche which I genuinely like however I have no idea if the competition is too high.

Keyword 1:
Exact searches a month: "5400"
Exact results: "732.000"

Keyword 2:
Exact searches a month: "880"
Exact results: "590.000"

Keyword 3:
Exact searches a month: "720"
Exact results: "85.900"

Keyword 3 looks the best in my opinion. But what kind of rules should I follow? X Number of searches a month should equal, X Amount of Exact Resutls.

I never answer questions like that - because its not fair to me and other people.

If I narrow this thread down to those parameters then there is no point having a "free" thread - I would have to charge for everything .. because I'm giving you my business.

You have to do the calculations yourself .. Position 1-3 Traffic -- Conversion Rate - Average Price of Item and $100 a month you need to make it worth while.

If the answer is less than $100 then I wouldn't bother .. I like $50+ commissions per sale - so to me absolute traffic numbers vs real life traffic is what matters.

Anyway that's my answer.

I left it out of my last answer - but you also have to look at the sites your competing against and if they are targeted sites or just there by default.

So harder keywords may end up being better - if you operate a perfect site.

But as I indicated above - you got to sit and figure out whether you can rank or not - and is it profitable to do so or not... and obviously refer to the projected traffic vs actual real traffic.

Also remember not every site is going to make $100 a month every month - its going to fluctuate -- but if you get a group of sites
that together average $100 a month each then your on the right track.

If 1-2 start failing - then just dump them and replace ... I am ruthless like this - its a business not a charity.

I found a pretty good connection for a teeth whitener product and I've been having some success. Yeah. I know this really isn't the place to out my niche but there it is. There is definitely a market for it. Good unique content, reviews on the listing and my YouTube videos have really helped. I'm about to scale it up and venture out into the beach toy market. I live in Florida and the the stuff selling in stores is mainly cheap tourist junk.

First of all, Thanks Danny for sharing your method, it was worth reading

After finishing reading the thread I still got a question - what is in your opinion better practice for assigning IPs to a websites.
Sure thing you don't host all 40 (50) sites on one IP. Do you assign 1IP=1site or maybe 2-3 sites on IP, 10-20?
If single site gets an IP, do you use IPs from different subnets or from single /24 block would work too?

Btw, as Danny mentioned that he's not using G Analytics, I wanted to point that there is piwik(dot)org - sweet open source analytics system which worked like charm for me for the last 2 years. All stats I need without helping big G to link all my sites together.
Just my 5 cents.

there are plenty of ways to track traffic etc - without giving google all the information on your sites .. honestly this is what I prefer .... I want google to have as little information about what I own as possible.

as far as Ip's go - for 10-20 sites honestly I don't think it matters - once you get above that - then I would do like I do - make several accounts assign different IP's depending what you can get from your host - and never host same niche sites on same IP - some hosts are helpful in this and some are not.

Danny, i have only 1 site and yeaterday i lost ranking from all keywords..... site is still indexed but i lost ranking from all my keywords so i have not get any visitor to my site today from google.....
do you have any idea why this happened.... ?

That is what happens to new sites alot - they rank well - then they drop and then they rise again.

This is one of the reasons I mentioned before that it just takes some time to settle the sites down in Google so you don't see so many fluctuations - also not to go too fast with Seo ..... the other side to it is - its hard to replicate exactly what I have in 2-4 months - it will take a little time.

Additionally another reason you really need a nice base of 10 Sites.

Summary - don't sweat it - just keep up basic link building .. and give it 2-3 weeks and see where you are then. No-one even the best sites in the world with unlimited budgets ... started out Page 1 Position 1.

may be this is due to lot of outbound links to amazon.com............ I heard that google hate amazon affiliates because amazon competitor is one of the biggest advertiser in google advertising program........

i am thinking to do a case study on it ....... i will cloak all my links on my second project and will do same things i did on this project....

but i dont know amazon rule about link cloaking....... is it allowed ?

Amazon does not allow link cloaking. I just slap a no-follow attribute on any links in my posts for Amazon.

Amazon must be able to see where the traffic is coming from : so as long as you meet that criteria your fine

you should be making the links no-follow which i do by plugin

also optionally use pretty links

People saw them, followed the link on my site, went to the reviews and then bought the products on Amazon. And this is just at seven days into my Amazon journey
