lol dont even try to understand how it works unless u have a p.h.d in computer science

Even with a CS degree its not so trivial :-)

Some serious brainage there in the Bitcoin Foundation - nevermind "Satoshi"

I think its the greatest code written since Unix

I mine litecoins, keep 1/2 and cashout the other 1/2

Mtgox are planning to add LTC, buy them now because when people catch to LTC on the price will go up like BTC.Plus there will be 4x as much LTC available than BTC.

I could show you thousands of penny stocks. You could make millions!

Litecoin doesn't have the same momentum and popularity. The gold silver comparison is a great one.

I keep saying, the popularity of bitcoin is from the idea behind the currency being hands off from every where else. Don't forget that.

Yep you're right.. but who's to say where these coins will be 2 years from now. If mtgox picks up on litecoin as someone stated above it could be just as good as buying bitcoins in the early days as well. Just might take a little longer to get there.

I suppose the risk in litecoins are low right now so maybe worth $few hundred just to sit on maybe for a year and see what happens, if you lose what the heck who cares...

guys, whats the easiest way to add funds to btc-e ?

I saw a paypal logo besides the Add Funds button but when I clicked it, it said "

paypal doesnt work..

guys, whats the easiest way to add funds to btc-e ?

Honestly, its pain in the rear to add funds there. I was never handed an option to add funds directly from my paypal or credit card. So, first time, I added some $$ using okpay. I used Liqpay to transfer money from my credit card and used the funds in liqpay to get some money into my okpay account. And from there, its quite easy to deposit into BTC-e. Okpay seems to be a real bitch though (For unverified accounts, you get only $300 monthly transfer limit and $0 withdrawal limit). And soon enough, my limit there got to $0 (even though I never used full $300 transfer limit). Submitted tickets to clarify but no reply from their support till now (been over 48 hours).

The most recent deposit, I transferred money from my card to liqpay ---> liqpay to libertyreserve ---> libertyreserve to BTC-e (used aurumxchange.com). Headsup - Expect atleast 7-8% exchange fees in the process.
Sometimes, Aurumxchange doesnt have BTC-e exchange in the options. In that case, try exchanging libertyreserve to Bitcoins. Deposit these bitcoins to your BTC-e account directly. And buy Litecoins from the LTC/BTC market.

whew.. I'm thinking to make a BST thread for 'Badass money laundering' :D

Where is the best way to buy litecoins?

I am trying to load some money on my new registered account at btc-e com, but it's still requiring authorization even if I authorized myself like a minute ago... I don't know if it's just a current problem or what's that...

However, is there any reliable place to buy & sell?

What about a domain with bitcoin keyword, wouldnt that be a great investment with all this hype around bitcoin, I already went out and purchased a few domains and I recommend you guys do the same before someone else snatches them up before you. Just sharing my thoughts. Extremely small investment for a possible huge profit.

So, the bitcoins is right now blowing my mind.. I don't understand why i did not invested in btc when the price was 5$/btc..

So what about Litecoins? Do you guys think that it will be nearly as popular as btc?

The price of ltc is right now $4.45/ltc i think. So an investment of 100 ltc / $445

'IF' the ltc reaches the value of the btc today in a couple of months, that would mean that an investment of $445 would make me a good amount of money.

Todays btc value is: $203

That would mean that the investment of $445 would make me $20300 just doing nothing..

So what do you guys think? Is it worth investing some money in litecoins?

Best Regards

You're talking about a market worth $1 billion for bitcoin versus $10 million for litecoin, quite a dichotomy in market size.

Ok so where should you buy litecoins from and what is the process of selling them when you want to?

Sorry if this is a noob question but where does one buy litecoins?

Go to btc-e.com, add money over there and buy litecoins. See the LTC/USD chart over there for pricing.

Its sometimes a challenge to add funds over there.

If you have liberty reserve, you can go to aurumxchange.com and buy VouchX and then redeem it for USD at vircurex.com, buy LTC with the USD amount and then exchange to LTC.

If you want to buy with paypal, buy Linden $ from someone (google it) and then exchange Linden $ for BTC at Virwox.com You can then send BTC to any exchange such as btc-e.com or vircurex.com and exchange your BTC for any other crypto coin such as ppc, ltc, nmc, etc.

The only mention MtGox has made to support your statement is a single tweet that promised nothing. MtGox won't carry LTC anytime soon - there is absolutely no use for them, they are just a trading commodity like all the other 100 alternative cryptocurrencies. MtGox is the trusted exchange right now, to carry LTC would be to stoop down to a site like btc-e.

I was excited about buying LTC too. Short term, there is no reason for them to rise though, besides if MtGox carries them, which I explained above. Long term yes it could be a good investment, because if Bitcoin gets BIG there has to be a secondary (imo).

Comparing Litecoins and bitcoins as silver and gold makes no sense. Bitcoins are divisable by a huge number, so it's not like you will be unable to get down to $1 or even $0.01 in a transaction, and they are actually useful. Litecoins are worth less than bitcoins, which people are taking as the same thing as silver and gold, because silver is worth less than gold... it makes no sense. Rocks are worth less than gold too, but they are not connected to gold in any way in form of trading.
