Paypal steals $1k from me - Guy claims "unauthorized" transaction.

Paypal sucks. I had $1.5k held for a month but they finally released it after hours on the phone with them.
I now only use Paypal if I have no other choice

I got this problem with one guy. He ordered one product for 30$ and another one for 15$. Should I just refund to get this over with?

There is a tip for this type of transactions, always save your e-mails, record using programs all chat or skype conversations

Im surprised that sellers are having an issue losing the unauthorized payments (the legitimate ones) Ive had a bunch processed against me, its an annoyance, but I always fill in the form say it was a digital service, copy and paste any IM logs or emails, and wait. havent had one reversed succesfully yet.

But as a buyer, I once bought traffic from some scam called millionvisitorsclub.com Adam Hudson ...50,000 hits....and I received like 6 hits, complained, took out a dispute on principle...andlost within an hour, gaypal claimed that they did not "guarantee the quality of products delivered, although I said i received nothing at all!"

Fuckers...at least I got all his whois information and turned it into my new auto sign up stuff

paypal has 0 respect for it's sellers. their dispute system is a complete joke

their dispute system is supposed to be a system where buyer and seller can workout the problem before turning it to paypal....so paypal doesn't have to get involved.

but paypal does get involved. i had a situation where people filed disputes with me. I refunded their money, and they were really happy. The situation surrounding my to do with the shipper banging up my products....but i took care of the situation and got great feedback from the buyers....

but paypal terminated my account for having to many disputes against me.

There are chances that the guy didnt opened the unauthorized transaction.

Few months back, I paid $200 to one of my friend and after 10 min, Paypal hold that money and showed to my friend that the transaction was unauthorized. But what the helll, I did paid him.

Now, Paypal wants me to confirm my paypal account by adding license, etc, etc...I am not going to provide all my personal info to that bloody suckers....And I even cant, because I used fake info...

So, I have just lost $200 PLUS Paypal just made a profit of $200!!

Do some math, every day, paypal mus be scamming at least 1000 persons daily, and an average of $50 from them, so over $50,000!!

At last, remember this

Pay = Pay Pal = To PayPal

Paypal -> Pay to Paypal!!

Same bullshit happened to me I've lost about $3,000 <--- from this.. Paypal is fucking retarded I'm sure I had $3k worth of unauthorized transactions..

damnn thats why i never use paypal for that kind of amount..

maybe we dont need keep too much money on paypal. they always do what ever they want.

They get more insaner everyday. God i hate them...

Heya, guys. This is my first post here, but I couldn't help but give my advice on this subject.

A few years back, my best friend and I were selling digital products. We didn't have problems at first because most transactions were around $10. After a while though, we were doing deals for a few hundred (which was huge for that niche). We ran into our firs "unauthorized transaction" issue and then got smart from there. Here is what we did and *never* lost another penny:

First, we would never accept payment that wasn't classified as "Good: Non-Auction" (or whatever it's called). This protected us from the liability of providing a service. We would be up front with people about why we required that, and the people who were doing business legit had no problem with it.

Next, we required accounts have confirmed shipped addresses.

After any major transaction, we would mail a letter (with tracking of course) to the confirmed address pretty much just summarizing the transction. If there was ever a person trying to get a chargeback, we would just submit the proof to PayPal that the "Goods:Non-Auction" were shipped, tracked, and delivered to the confirmed address. Make note that transactions over a certain ammount ($500 I think) need to be mailed via Certified Mail for PayPal to protect the seller.

The best time ever was when a kid took his parents credit card to buy $800 worth of stuff and then try to get their money back. Needless to say, we won that dispute, and the parents probably beat the life out of him.

Anyways, I hope this post helped. It was a bit to write from my iPhone, but it is a topic I feel strongly about. If PayPal didn't have the market monopolized, I'd stay as far away from them as possible.

luclkily i lost only $15 in unauthorized transaction. Now i am using google check out fuck the paypal

How do you check if they have a confirmed address before they pay?

Also-- what do you say to Paypal when they want to know what was ordered? Or do they not mind if you sell a digital product as long as it's on CD?

The product we were selling required conversation between one of us and the buyer while the payment was going on - we would state all of the requirements (Goods:Non-Auction, Confirmed Address) beforehand, and if it was not sent that way, we would immediately refund the payment.

in business, you never leave your cash in the drawer....you always take your cash to the bank at the end of the day, my friends....

treat PP like the register.....make withdrawals daily...

no matter how much PP likes to pretend that they are a bank, they are not...they are a business...and if you leave big sums of money in there, they will rob you blind.

Has anyone had a problem where paypal does a review on you and puts a dispute or two or you for transactions being suspicious? Thats what I have right now and I cant do anything about it. One of them got dropped last night but the other is still up.
Anyone have any advice Ive already called paypal and they cant do shit.

I withdraw my funds on paypal every day. If it's I busy day, I withdraw them twice a day. NEVER leave any money in your paypal account, never ever!

It's totally ridiculous that they allow my money to be stolen or sometimes freeze my account, even after all those tenthousands of dollars of transaction fees they took from me. I mean, what the heck are those for if not to ensure secure payments and risk-free transactions?

I second this....I use my PayPal debit card to withdraw all my funds. $400.00 can be withdrawn each day, so fuck....if you have to....wait 5 mins till midnight (this is when THEIR clock rolls over) withdraw the $400, then after midnight grab the other $400.00. It works, it's safe and if they decide to fuck you, then you got your money....

i'm surprised that paypal doesn't sell insurance...for both the buyer and seller..

anybody thinking about selling paypal insurance, stop, you would have claims every hour. You would surely go broke...
