The Ultimate Amazon Thread Mark 2 - Q/A - Good/Bad

I only have 1 Landing Page which is not included in the above - simply because it was a test for use with NFL2011 - Ad Network Idea..... didn't work out - but I just downloaded Clad Genius Trial and playing around with that at the moment.

All EMD Niche - Highly Targeted Sites.

I'm in the process of starting a CLAD campaign for a client (apartment locating), and this tool is very powerful if used properly. However it isn't cheap to run if you want to stay under the CList radar. You'll need local numbers for account creation, and hyper-local private proxies for posting. Also you'll want to post images instead of html, so you'll need a mass uploader.

Yes - I'm playing just with my local area right now - image ads etc as you suggested .. anyway perhaps we can talk about it another time .. don't want to clog up the thread at this time with such an advanced / expensive tool.

Just wanted to post an update.

I don't think this was mentioned before but, what is your take on targeting buying keywords?

Examples:

Buy
Discount
How do I get
Who sells the cheapest
get cheap
low cost
for sale online
where to buy
best reviews of
bargain
etc..

?

Would adding "your product" followed by some of these keywords help ?

Thanks, great thread man keep it up.

Any good free places to do press releases? Or any press release example would also help...

At Danny, what do you think about targetting multiple items under a broader subject?

"buy" and keyword as always been a winneer for me, I am ranking for "buy" keyword and my conversion is 20%+ even with the limited 24 hour cookie from amazon, the issue is of course traffic, I have other good rankings (non amazon) for buy keywords with higher volume and they are alwasy a winner. Cannot get more targeted than that!

Amazing thread so far, haven't read through it all and won't have time today.

The one thing that always kept me from Amazon is getting into it.
To get accepted you need to have an amazon suitable website but you can't make one not knowing what you can promote and whatnot..

It is really easy to get accepted to amazon associate , i got accepted with a blogger blog with a free .cc domain name . That was 2 years back i don't know if it is hard to get accepted now .

Buying Keywords always work better.

There are plenty of free PR Sites - just use scrapebox to find them

Some people wanted to go that route of putting multiple things under one - instead of having really targeted sites - like I said at the time - that's up to you to make it work - I have no experience doing it that way - so can't comment on what expected earnings would be.

I'll say it again - focus on quality sites / good content / nice presentation and ultimately user experience = make money ..... the lower the quality then your going to experience detioration of earnings .. based on how aggressive Google is these days.

Seems like you have a steady Niche - and with further testing/tweaking .. steady Seo - that might grow into a nice monthly earner ... just make sure to probably wait for that month 2-3 to see if your earnings rise further .. then you will know whether to invest more into content or not.

Hopefully today we get the Amazon Review from Natasha Nixon - and be able to post it here in the thread - so you guys can see how they are doing it .. I'd strongly advise to get a PLR Review as well - and then have a nice little template to give to your writers to follow for Articles to go onto your Site. It's better to do it that way so every Site that's built really has a nice unique personal touch - than just having everyone with the same.

All the best today and hopefully will be back later with the review .. cheers.

I also wanted to add one thing more to the tried/failed part of this thread.

* Fresh Store Builder - most people know the guy stole my affiliate commission by replacing his affiliate ID for mine - and when I found it he promised to pay me - but then came up with 20 excuses not too ----- but anyway moving on .... after all that --- these sites are like the Magento Sites -- they sell for a while then Google just sees right through them and your sites disappear.

It's just Google has become alot smarter to the ready made - designed to sell sites and it's not possible to build a long term business with them .. for some reason - Wordpress done properly can avoid the same type of fate -- so I'd suggest sticking with it - and don't put your money into the others.

Danny,

I didn't know about this can you enlighten me more please mate about the FSB issues

Thanks

Well this is just my opinion from doing Amazon a few different ways - and seeing what sites sell and what sites don't.

FSB Sites do well for 3-4 months - but after that their rankings suffer - because somehow Google sees right through it for what it is .. doesn't matter how much content you add or how great the site is - they just won't recover.

Magento same thing for the first 3-4 months they sell products and do ok - but again after this period their rankings drop - as it just seems like Google sees right through them and knows they are just Amazon Affiliate Sites .. there seems little you can do for them once they get into that downward spiral.

So you may spend $200 and get $300 back -- but that doesn't pay you back for the time and effort.

In contrast to that Wordpress Sites can rank Page 1 for years and earn money all the time - when you add content your traffic and earnings rise unlike with the other ways.

---- so you put in $100 or $200 your getting back $1200 a year for years to come.

The only risk with WP is Product/Niche and Link Building - you get too aggressive too fast and you doom the site.

All I can say is that people can argue all they like about this and say this and that - and that's their opinion .... but me personally I would not spend a dime more on FSB or Magento as it's just not worth it... the FSB guy is a scumbag thief anyway.

It's a business pure and simple - you got to cover your initial costs/pay monthly hosting/seo costs plus any extra content costs as well as being paid for your time ... so based on that WP is a no-brainer.

That's how I feel about it .. cheers.

From what I've seen we are targetting almost the same strategy so I am sure you've seen: www.bestreviews2013.com
How do you explain that it remained in SERPs even if it has just spuned content, unreadable and crap backlinks from blog comments on huge spam links? :)

Where are they in the SERPs that you are concerned about that site as being competitive? I searched for reviews on Nike Air Max 90 Retro and did not see them in the first 5 pages, and that product is reviewed on their front page.

To get accepted you need to have an amazon suitable website but you can't make one not knowing what you can promote and whatnot..

I was accepted in about 9 months ago WITHOUT a online website. I chose a domain name that was consumer orientated with a no product line associated (as example: meandmycastle.xxx), and had 'under construction'. You can use the same affiliate links on several sites if you so choose: just be in contact with Amazon when you do it so there is no annoyance later.

Danny1111, you mention purchasing Amazon PLR and gave the link to a WF post. When i checked that out, the guy appears to be selling PLR on kitchen appliances. Do you request a certain niche from him? Or do you search for people selling PLR for your niche and just used that particular link as an example?

Sites and PLR are all just examples ... like I said to someone yesterday -- just buy 1 PLR Review and 1 from NN -- read them see what you like and what you don't and create your own template to use for writing.

Honestly I looked at one of the above posts 5 times and still don't know what the question is ?? -- when I added examples I just searched Google and those were the sites I found.

Doesn't mean they are going to stay there - they are just examples of what other people are doing ... if you put everything together I think you will do alot better than them - both in Site / Content / Seo and in the end rankings.

Anyway I'm not going to beat a dead horse - most things are in the 2 threads by now - so most people should have some kind of site started.

I totally skipped over the explanation you gave about using the PLR as a template. Thanks for the clarification

I really don't have much more to say today - kind of feel at this point alot has been said/written and it's time to wait to see more studies of people's results
then we can make some suggestions / you can test and let us know what your finding is helping you and what is not -- or suggestions you have.

At this time I'm still waiting on NN to send the review for you guys to look at - and I think for some people that will be very helpful - to help them figure out how to tackle the writing part of this.

Also yesterday someone PM'd me that their Magento site made $33 so far this month - I said tell me what it's earning in 6 months time -- (probably next to nothing) -- 3 months 6 months 12 months - these are the time frames I'm looking at for my business - not 2 weeks or 4 weeks ..... I want something that makes money for years.

Probably the last point I should go over are the products I mentioned in this thread. These are things I use and I pay for - there are always alternatives / other ways to do things and perhaps even better tools .... so those choices have to go along with your budget and knowledge - and don't feel like you need them all to be successful you don't.

That's it for me today until I hear back on the review ... cheers.

Awesome thread man, I've learned a lot!

One question though, and I believe this hasn't been answered really.. regarding domain names.

I know that you suggest .com names first and foremost and I understand that, but I was wondering if .com in your experience (others can chime in on this too) is ALWAYS the best option, even when let's say I want this domain name but it's taken:

toppencilsreviews, com <- but .net & .org are available

Is it then better to go for:

top-pencil-reviews,com
or
toppencilreviewsHQ,com

..than getting the EMD with net or org? What is your opinion on this? Is com really that important?

I'm asking because I have absolutely no problems following your advice, finding niches / keywords, however most of the good .com's are taken, and I don't wanna waste money on buying several hyphened domains or xxxxxHQ.com domains if it's bad for ranking as opposed to settling with org & net when com is taken.

Appreciate all your guidance man, I've already build two reviews sites following your advice!

Could you clear up what exactly is PLR and why are they all so cheap, so many long articles for pennies..
What's the deal ? Googling said private label rights but that makes it sound that it should be something extremely unique, quality and hence expensive..

I'm not sure on OPs stance regarding this topic but in my opinion hyphen domains should be avoided at all costs.
I save some blog post about this topic on seomoz I believe and it really made me realize that most hyphened domains are extremely spammy.
Name one popular site with a hyphen ?

When EMDs are taken I usually add an extra word or a letter, such as an X before the keyword, s in the end or an extra niche related word..
