Hi BHW,i have been here from a bit long time,i learned so many things from here,i corrected some of my mistakes also and still i am very studious and strong.I am not an expert seo master or IM guru yet,still I actually have done some things within the recent past that worked good within my blogs.i think to share some recommendation for troubled newbies here.These are some basic to get you started with a new small online venture.I hope you get benefits with my small tips.
Well,Traffic is one main important thing for your blog/website to get along.so we will see how to attain some fair traffic by doing some self Optimization!.
Below is my methods for increasing Traffic
#1: Have a good keyword/article/blogpost/web content. Something that people might actually want and/or use.
#2: Use tools like keywordtracker or Google adwords tool to generate good keywords for it.
#3: Promote it on major web 2 sites.

In your website/blogpost,do not fill it with a bunch of "fluff words". Have relevant text, clearly written, with all of it concerning your product/service. Don't pad the thing out with a bunch of manufactured "buzzwords" or "keywords" or meta-tags trying to get a higher ranking in the search engines.
Make your blog clear, concise and easy to navigate. Save all the flash and dazzle for the instances where it is needed. Same with graphics, fonts, and any other "bell or whistle". People tend to go board with things like java, active x, flash, and just script crap to death. Its the major source of problems with a page. Slow loading, script errors, annoying things.So make you certainly look into those thing also.
Don't be taking something like this just in order to create backlinks, or to try and make a "link farm". Yeah, you need those things for SEO to work its best, but they need to be links that are *relevant* to the page content, and your content needs to be relevant to why you put the page up in the first place.
I know no one can just post here in bhw ,within the small space allotted in this forum and teach you how to do the best SEO tactics in a few minutes. If it was simple or easy, everyone would do it and it wouldn't be a profession.So i know its hard.But its too simple,if observe it properly.
Learning from the master is always my choice.So i leave that to you also.In addition to my tips,you may want to look into the posts below,right where i got my support,when i was a newbie.

SEO isn't magic, but it isn't pure science either. It takes time and effort to get your rankings pushed up, and it goes hand in hand with other marketing techniques.Once you have all that done, then, just wait. Patience is the key.People will flock to your site , if you have it right, and it will happen almost by itself, if you get all the ingredients proper.
