I'm interested in how to add a calendar in wordpress side bar

Im sure you will be able to do thta with a Widget. Should not be to difficult. Go to Appearance --> Widgets in your dashboard. There is usually a normal calendar there. otherwise just go to plugins --> add new. and search for a calendar You should find many. Cheers.

Quick question.. I have a WP site in english and I'd like to have little flags at the top and when you click on them, the site in that language loads (translated).. any ideas on how to do that?

At one time I was going to do that and I remember that there was a free plugin to help with that, but can not remember the name. If you find solution please post it !

Thanks a lot for this thread. I'm working on the ReviewIt theme.


I think the idea of the ReviewIt Theme is to have one big showing images/videos one at a time whilst the smaller box shows the list of all available images/ videos, etc.

I intend to use images. However, I find it challenging to load images. I've loaded into the Library and tried the slider too.
Please can anyone help with a step by step guide to load images? Thank you.

Hello OriginalEXE. I need your help again. Actually I am using Arthemia theme for my blog. I have a problem with my Meta Description.
I am using SEO by yoast. So when I search my blog with it's exact name google shows the same meta description which I have used in SEO by yoast. But whenever I am searching my blog for the keyword (for which my blog is ranking for), google shows the Meta Description of the featured post. Kindly guide me to get rid of this issue as I am facing a lot of trouble in ranking because of this.

Ugh, I've been trying to get this working 8 hours now. Sorry noob question.
1) I uploaded wordpress to my host.
2)Created an sql database & looking on cpanel my php is running.

The 5min install says to run wp-admin/install.php in my browser & it will walk me thru install. A text file opens with major code & nothing else. Help!

What host are you using? If you're getting .txt file download wouldn't that mean that there's no PHP support?

You have a free WordPress (xxx.wordpress.com) blog and now I want to install a plugin like the way I install them with my WordPress site at my own domain. Can't find it in the menu. Isn't this possible with a free WordPress site?

No, you can't add plugin's to WordPress.com the Free websites. They can't allow free sites to add possible vulnerable plug-ins to the server. This would drive up the costs and make it impossible to offer them for free.

My first post, which i want static, and I have posts added every couple days. How can i have only the "money" post be on the first page and no other posts.

The easiest way to do this is, instead of setting up your money post as a post, make it a page, then make a second page named Blog or w/e. Then go into Settings > Reading > Front page displays a static page, and select your money page as the static page, and the other page you created as your posts page.

Another possibility to achieve your goal would be to just edit post on your money post, click on the edit link next to "Visibility" (it's near the update button), and check the "Stick this post to the front page" box. Other posts will still appear on the same page, but your money post will always be at the top.

only problem with wp stick is it over rides the settings of 1 post on home page and it allows a second post below it. cant figure how how to just do the single post. for now I just made that post a page and it is a single static page.
