it might also work to remove links to your sites like rip off report, just blast them with as many links as you can for the keyword you want them to NOT APPEAR for, then they disapear, who cares if ripoff report or similar site gets a better ranking for another keyword...

Not fully, no. In fact, I think you can end up helping them.

The site I tested this on was not very old and the content was incredibly thin, and, even then, I was able to boost my rank for certain keywords.

If your competitor has an old site with tons of content, I think you will ultimately end up helping them.

One time I asked everyone that was willing to blast my money site and they did I went to the top 1 million sites Alexa ranking almost overnight. It sure seemed to work really good when other people randomly blasted my site and Google never sandboxed it.

Anyone who is pretending to do anything related to SEO and hasn't done this 'test' himself should stop attempting anything at SEO, this is as basic as it gets, it's one of the first things you do, and also one of the easiest tests.

You people do understand that SEO does not mean fiddling around with some KW optimized article on 1 domain, SEO means testing, testing, testing, more testing, and when you are so goddamn sick of it, you test some more, you buy a few hundred domains and test any possible setup you can think of, *BING* there's your winner, that's SEO...

But keep reading forums and pretend to know anything of SEO....

It's been about a month since I started. I will no longer be doing blasts but I have already sent a couple hundred thousands links to the site.In conclusion, it seems that sending Scrapebox blasts to the site can have mixed effects. Chances are, my previously ranking keyword dropped due to an overoptimization penalty because I used only 2 anchors. The competition for that keyword was also way higher then the one I just started to rank for. While these blasts had a negative effect on this keyword, they had a net positive effect on the longtail version of my previously ranking keyword and the blasts also helped my new keyword rank #97 from nowhere.

I took a rather careless approach in executing this. I wasn't trying to rank so much as I was trying to understand the validity of generic negative SEO attempts. Had I used hundreds of anchors as well as inner page URLs, I think the effect would have been completely different. That being said, negative SEO attempts can actually benefit your competitors.

Let's hear some thoughts on everything!

I used this technique with great result.

Indeed as you notice for your kw this method can get you out of the game some time especially on new websites but I assure you that if you continue to blasts the kw that went to 0 and add some anchor variation and keep the link velocity steady you will see it rising again and higher. Over time those dances will be shorter as time frame and you will start to loose less position and gain more when you come back...

To make this method work I will suggest to use long tail kw in urls and make blast to those url's with those long tail kw as anchor... Of course those long tail kw must contain and be related to the main one.

About the negative SEO indeed using this method, blasting huge amount of backlinks to the competitors, will not work but negative seo involve many other things and a lots of manual work like submitting manual review from websites to G, link removal request of the high value links and things like that.

But negative seo will have no effect if you do not know how to do it and second do it by the book involve a lots of time and money and this resources will be better used to your own website... Second i'm not sure about the long term effect of negative seo.. I don't think will last for long, and third will have no effect on well established websites. If you do not believe choose a kw and try to get down wikipedia but do not come here an complain when you will be broke

As the above comment all this case study should be made sticky... this way many people will stop load the forum with crap theory...

I see nothing wrong with targeting yahoo/Bing and not giving a damn about Google. Despite lower traffic they tend to provide a higher conversion rate. So, it is all about the strategy and goals established for the campaign.

I already do this kind of link building, using a blogspot blog with exact domain.. It does pretty good, at first month, it is ranked on 2nd page, I continue to blast 100 links a day and after 2 months it came up for number 1 spot. But after the recent update, it is nowhere to found.

Keep up with the strategy and also diversify your anchor text, try also to increase your link velocity and it will come back.

This kind of movement are natural when using this technique.
