Not exactly, I'm saying don't do 100% generic anchors on 100% wikis, and 0% on comments, 0% profiles, 0% etc. Do 5% generic anchors on every single platform.. People keep doing 100% wikis for 100% generic anchors.. That's a huge red flag, and it's so obvious those links are manipulated and you're intent is to dilute.

I think you are all missing one point, the reason some people rank and others don't using the exact same tactics is that Google is basing rankings more off site quality and trust than it used to. Try ranking an ugly spammy site using the best tactics and it'll be rough. Google is slowly tricking SEO people into offering quality, relevant content... which is what they wanted all along.

Theres a reason G has to keep searching and destroying blog networks. Its because they hold the metric that allows a link to pass juice;-)

I'm finding that 'slowly slowly catchy monkey' is the method I'm taking these days. No huge senukex campaigns to try and blast myself to the top as in most cases these past 6 months or so they either haven't made any difference in my rankings or have affected them negatively.

I'm adding content> adding a few links from relevant sites> add more content> add some more backlinks> change my keywords> add some more links>write a new article> chuck in some retweets and likes, etc. I'm not seeing any huge gains but some slow and constant movements.

I don't have many sites left after the emd update, but the ones I have are important to me and I'm starting to treat them with baby gloves.

I guess nobody can deny that in the last year Seo has changed a lot, even the so called gurus got tons of websites slapped by an update or the other. Seo is surely harder than last year, it has changed from mass link building to quality build linking.

The game has changed after so many google updates, and penalties for sure.... and what used to be easy is not anymore. However i think that just a matter of addapting and changing with the trend...spamming forums is a big NONO now, and quality is def more important than quantity. Any SEO firm that keeps on carrying old ranking methods will for sure fail, and have their customers banned. You need to be extra careful, go for less, with high PR, very unique content, and stay away from spamming ...
Ranking sites at page #1 is still posible, even new sites, although it might take longer than last year.

Focus on original and highly informative content and publishing them on top traffic sites like directories, web 2.0, press release, wikis, related sites e.t.c and don't spin. This will help create a reasonable rate of syndication and link back to you, somewhat like guest blogging. Build high PR sites and also do guest blogging. This little strategy alone works wonders and can get you on the first 10 spot for low/medium in 2 months. The updates has helped cleared lots of sites from the top page and leaving it vacant.

What do you mean by don't spin? Do you mean use the same article posted from my site to syndicate to article directories, web 2.0 (without spinning) or write a new unique article and syndicate that (without spinning)?

Yes, it's more difficult than it was before.. I remember the old days when a Xrumer or Scrapebox's blast could rank you #1 within few days. Now you just need to be clever.. I spam , but.. I'm not doing obvious spam try and test man..
