'IM' listed on JOB experience Resume...?!

Of course we all know (or just me) that marketing online is not gonna last long.. I guess 4-5 yrs or something, It's changing every time and it is hard to adjust every update every method saturation. -_-

Aside from online job, Some of you guys have offline job too. Am i right?

I guess i have too Yes i need it too, Then i plan this morning to go outside walk, see the outside world, I used to be a computer tech guy,network specialist. I graduated at college last year and tried 'making money online'. So far so good!

Anyway all companies/employer need this 'JOB EXPERIENCE' and i don't have it offline. Online yes! but Do you guys list your 'IM' job on your resume's?

Like SEO,Social media,affiliate,CPA,advertising etc..

I used freelance,affiliate marketing and social media marketing to earn decent amount of bucks. But that's not enough, I need to get a Offline job but how? i need experience ofcourse..Dude don't introduce Mac'donalds to me.

So do you guys list it? or not?

Till the time people are using Internet, IM will not go anywhere. Yes, with time marketing techniques may change but its never going to be dead.

You may list that on your resume, however I am not sure how exactly recruiters (who may have no idea about IM) will see that as a positive thing.

That's the point, I might experience on interview they might ask me about 'Hey what is SEO? Dfuq is Social media marketing? how much your profit daily? ask this, this..this..this etc.' Then after that they will feel..''(this dude is a scammer online)..Thank you sir!, Plz don't call us we will call you'' -_-

Think about this. If you had to look for a job with IM experience this means that you never made it in IM. I wouldn't even mention it if I were you. It can only do you bad.

I think IM will never saturate, Population is growing faster and the internet is getting bigger. I think it is a positive side to include your online experiences. Just be honest and be prepared to answer if questions are asked.

Like unknownymous said, most employers would probably think you're a scammer. Or, they'll have no idea what you're talking about with IM, CPA, CTR, PPC, etc. and just think you're making things up. There are two situations when I would mention IM on my resume:

- If I didn't have a job during a certain period. Gaps in employment look bad, and "self-employed as independent web designer" would look better, even if they don't understand exactly what I did.

- If it was a job in the IT sector, I might write it under "other activities" or something, where people usually put down volunteer work or something. I'd probably write something like "operated as independent web designer" or whatever.

Yeah, it's just you. Who on their right mind would think that Internet goes away and people stop buying stuff and services in 4-5 years? Sure WW3 will demolish pretty much everything, but then you have bigger issues than applying for a job...

For now, I don't. Been working completely online for a bit over year now, and not turning back

I only list relevant stuff in my CV anyways, so I don't think I would, unless I was applying for something that would benefit from my experience. Even better is you have some online projects to show off, but I guess most IMers don't.

Like People says always that in Future SEO will be No More..Even if Google become a AI Engine ..it need a SEO to give what it required to get ranks. It is just that with time things evolved and become little advance and with every advancement it is hard to learn but easy to use..So stay with what you do best..Im is not going anywhere..

People don't last long in IM. IM will be around as long as the Internet is around......

Glorify the wording if you're going to put IM on your resume. Something along the lines of "waste relocation and sanitation specialist" just means garbage man.

I recently landed myself a marketing job with a giant multinational company.

I had a whole section on my CV about IM/CPA/PPC
-You use it to highlight your abilities
->Present it as entrepreneurial & innovative
->Shows that you can work hard on your own
-> Shows you have focus and are highly driven and creative

They might not know about it, but explain it and answer any questions they have on it.

It will give you stand-out from the other people applying to, as not many have IM experience.

IM is going to be dead in 4-5 years, I don't think so. We will have to adjust to the new conditions, I think it will become even more popular, it is going to last till the end of the internet, which I think neither of us will see.
