Questioned aimed for SEO experts (blogging related)

I have a question that I am hoping you SEO experts can assist me to understand. I write articles for my personal blog (it is a hobby of mines) and I was offered to write for another publishing site. Their rules are that I if I choose to post at their site, I am only allowed to repost that same article at my own blog one week after. So how will Google interpret this? Will Google see the repost as a repost (because it was posted elsewhere a week earlier) or does Google have some type of intelligent algorithm that will make it realise that it is my original writing (maybe by reflecting on what else is on my personal blog)?

I know this question is rather abstract and can appear dumb, but I thought I would ask regardless.

That means publishing duplicate content which is a NO NO as far as G are concerned!

You can use the rel=author tag for it I believe. Look into it.
It'll be added to your posts on the other site, and on your complete personal website.

If you are able to write quality work and interesting articles, you can also have it on your blog if you reword it to be 100% original.

If I understand your respond, you are saying that I can repost my article at my own blog at any point after, however, I will need to rewrite it to make it original or it will not work?

They're linked to your google profile so that google can know that you contribute to both the places.

As for SEO, I haven't been in your situation yet, but I think that if you have the rel=author on your website, and only on posts on the other website, google will know that you wrote it and hence it won't count as duplicate copied content.
Take a look into its implemention, and what it does exactly. You'll find more information online than I can give you, I'm not a big fan of it personally.

I see, I read up on it and it is exactly as you state. However, the issue is, how will Google deal with the duplicate? Will it accept me reposting it at my own blog because it knows I am the author?

I don't know, and there is no way to know that for sure except by testing, but I don't believe there will be any problem if you identify that you wrote the article.
