[CASE STUDY] Sending Scrapebox Blasts to Your Money Site

How are you managing the links? Aren't they from the same links everytime? Or do you scrape them each time?

Thank you OP for taking the time and effort to do this case study. I remember a made a thread last month asking if people still use Scrapebox directly to their money sites. Almost all of them said "no" because it will negatively affect your website, get penalize, etc. So this case study will greatly back up or contradict that claim.

nice case study going on. I will keep a watch on this thread for result. How many days completed till now during your1st blast?? and how many unique domain backlinks in 100k blast.

All the info is in this thread. The amount of unique domains will vary per blast.

I will be testing this on a couple month old site. I will be testing this for a keyword that was already ranking before the blasts as well as a new keyword that was not ranked before the blasts (to see if it helps rank new keywords). Both keywords are easy/medium competition.

Since, I am doing the exact same thing here, you can save yourself the trouble, and the potential loss of a site.

@op - try waiting a week to see results, then re blasting. You may be surprised at the results.

I will do that as this case study progresses. Right now, I give it a couple of days. I will also be trying some other random techniques using Scrapebox blasts to the money site as time progresses.

your case study is cool and really unpleasant :(
I have never done these type of huge link building in my money site. I think the higher number and the shorter time is the main reason for not not changing the rank.

It's not really too unpleasant. There have been some really positive changes as well as negative ones. Only time will tell now.Don't forget that this ranked one of my keywords that was not ranking before.

How are you managing the links? Aren't they from the same links everytime? Or do you scrape them each time?

I have a couple hundred thousand different sites that I choose from each time.

Yep, that is the point - to see the real SERP effects monitored over time.

Drastic regression during the first few days but a slow climb after a week. Interesting.

KEEP GOING BUDDY :)

Great thread,

Be interesting to know more about the target site.
Other tests (a couple here on BHW) have shown some correlation between inbound link effectivenes and various onsite factors (content, age, size, niche etc)

The feeling being that a larger, older, more authoritative site can withstand a far greater number of (what some consider) poor links than a new, content poor low authority site.
The other issue is - longevity.
To really know how this pans out, we need to see how the site is fairing in 3 months, 6 months, a year etc.

A did a similar tactic last year to a site (if you PM me I'll send you the URL) It got traction and moved up nicely after about 6 weeks of heavy linking, stayed up for 5 months, then in Feb of this year (well before Penguin) it dissapeared for 4 of it's main 5 keywords. Interstingly the one that survived (went down, but still page one) was the EMD keyphrase.
Longevity is very important to consider. YOu get to page one eventually - how long does it last? Do you have to keep adding 500,000 links a week to keep it up? Does it fail after a while anyway?

One thing i'm certain of is lthat link velocity for many niches exist. I'm also sure that for some niches..it' doesn't
Likewise a site in a spammy niche is more likely to succeed with spam links than a site in a good niche with spam links?

Why? Becasue ranking is relative and not absolute. If it's a spammy niche and every other commercial site in the niche is linking in a spammy way, then all you have to do is beat your crappy competition.
YOur spam is better than the next guys spam - ergo - you win.
If you are looking for an authority site in a large niche with proper competition linking in clever ways then it's likely that the same methods won't work.
Horses for courses? Worth considering.

Keep going buddy :)

Watching this one azguru. While my voice on the matter may come across as biased (considering I sell a monthly Scrapebox AA list), I've still seen good results and standings on the majority of my websites w/ large blog comment profiles (spread across main and inner-pages). Undoubtely, I would be surprised to see the website rankings in this case study to maintain long term position without some sort of link diversity.

I think you should get better results if you use more anchor text variations ;)

It seems to be dancing in my opinion. I have a question, how will be the output if I test it out on a PR 4 domain? I have done around 1 mil links and the position hasn't budged a bit.

Great thread, interested to see the full results. Here's a random question, I've had scrapebox for a long time, but for the past few months I can't seem to harvest any proxies that can scrape from google. Even when they say google passed, they don't scrape - how are you scraping google?

I am a little confused with this test.
So did the blast help its rank, or is it hurting it?

It helped then hurt then helped again.

Overall, as the current rank will improve on its former rank (it seems to be gaining ground), it will prove to be more of a help than a hurt since the link count now is higher.

BTW how much content you have in the site? What's the proportion of your "New keyword" and "Primary Keyword"?

Private proxies

I am a little confused with this test.

It's done both - It is too early to draw any solid conclusions

BTW how much content you have in the site? What's the proportion of your "New keyword" and "Primary Keyword"?

It's about 30 pages - only 2 are articles. I'm not sure what you mean by your second question.

RANKING UPDATE

Previously Ranking Keyword: 135 to 156
New Keyword: 62 to 67
Longtail version of Previously Ranking Keyword: 7 to 6

I did a 100k blast using only the previously ranking keyword as the anchor 2 days ago.

This is fascinating, subbed... maybe it's time to dust off that old ScrapeBox :)

Great case study. I wanted to start a similar thread in the past with a new site and a aged site.
I hope your experiment it's going to be a success.
Subscribed to this tread.

Do you happen to know what the nofollow/do follow ratio is on your blasts?
