I'm trying to stop atm...

Also I can get free Nicorette lonzenges for those of you in the USA if anyone's interested just PM me...

I got into smoking while I was in boarding school at around 13/14 and I really regret it... I smell, I'm always broke despite how much I earn at 17...

but on the other hand there's the time where I feel like I'm glad I smoke...

What about you guys...

I quit 3 years ago and haven't had a single cigarette since. It's all a matter of being able to control yourself for 10-15 seconds when you get that urge. (I'll walk by someone smoking, will get a sudden urge, but keep walking and about 10-15 seconds later, the urge has passed).

You can quit, but you'll only do it when YOU are ready.

I smoke e-cig and it's really good for me - i dont smoke normal cigs anymore. Try if you want to quit smoking.

I dont smoke and i never did before, well i have smoked some cigaretes but still, not much i can count on my fingers and im happy that i dont smoke, if i would smoke then my money would be spent on cigarettes , and i dont want that.

All smokers say to me that i better dont try to smoke , because they know that feeling and its hard to not smoke, but it is possible to stop it and you can do that if you want.

Just dont give up, you will be happy after you stop

A forum with a quarter million members. If there is a quarter million members and none of them smoke, I will give you a quarter million dollars......

Lol, sorry bout that, the bhw activist thread got me in the sarcastic mood :D

But, yea, I also smoke and will eventually quit when life isn't so stressful

It's not as hard as you think. I quit about 18 months ago after smoking a pack a day for 40 years.... and yeah that makes me one of the old guys around here.

I knew I was going to do it. Had enough reason to quit so the morning I had planned to quit I stopped. Period. The end.

How was it? Absolute hell. I was seriously ill from withdrawal the first two days and then it started to ease and I haven't smoked one since that day. You're going to find certain triggers that throw the urges at you weeks and even months down the road. Recognize them as just triggers, walk away for a moment and they go away. It does get easier as time goes on.

It's much easier to quit when you're younger so do it now. You'll be very thankful that you did.

If you wanna quit then you don't need e-cig, nicorette or something similar. Just quit if you have the balls.

Hey Mate,

I was a smoker for 6 years... first 3 years 5-7 cigs per day (in college)..next 3 years 1-3 cigs per day...I had never been more than 3 days( continuously) without smoking! .... You can say i was not a chain or heavy smoker...But i tried & failed many many times to quit!

Finally on June 24th 2012 I decided to quit smoking forever...and I Did! 12 days without smoking at all! Now i don't have the crutch or urge to smoke! No more slavery!

I had heard that many heavy smokers from hollywood and various celebrities used a system called "The Easy way to Stop smoking by Allen carr"..
including ashton kutcher, Richard branson etc... so i naturally downloaded the book and tried to read But i couldn't complete it due to work, fear of missing smoking, laziness etc... So postponed infinite times..

So i understood reading a 100 page book is not going to work...Luckily i found a video based on the book by the same name...which i downloaded using torrents... So i watched the video and read some parts, which i needed to understand better...

Now my perception of smoking is completely changed...I'm 100% sure that I'd never smoke again..I'm not feeling the urge though my friends are smoking around me...

Smokers smoke due to two reasons

1. Due to a drug called Nicotine, which is the most addictive Drug known to Humans
2. Every smoker forms many misconceptions, illusions about smoking. like I enjoy smoking right after a Full Meal, I enjoy the taste of cigs with coffee etc.

So basically in order to quit ... you need to flush the nicotine out of your body and Destroy all the misconceptions you have formed over the years!

My advice:

Read the Book "The Easy way to stop smoking by allen carr"...And don't postpone reading the book! The author actually encourages you to keep smoking which reading the book!

I'm in NO Way Associated to that book...I'm just a happy non-smoker and found this thread to share my 'Quit Smoking" experience!

I`m smoking since high school . Some of you can call '' professionally smoker '' lol sometime 40+ cig /day ... especially when I`m working loads ... I never wanted to quit smoking I was trying sometime to get into electronic cigs ... worthless to say they are shitty :) ...

If you want to quit cigs forever, but be addicted to nicotine forever, try e-cigs.

I quit smoking, but now I suck on watermelon flavored nicotine vapor. I still get that little buzz, but I do it all day. And because I won't get lung cancer and don't need to inhale smoke, I will never quit. If e-cigs weren't around, I'd probably be nicotine free.

Hey man, thank you for your post, I'm not a big smoker(5-10/day, sometimes 0), but I'm glad there is someone who smokes and is fine with it. I'm tired of all the smokers always whining poor me, I'd love to quit but i can't.
btw I really think quitting smoking is easy, I've done it several times :D

I don't want to quit cigs, I am a lite smoker & I have a full control myself.
But in my house I never smoke cigs, only when i am outside home.

I keep stopping and then starting again a few months later. Bullshit really. But bottom line is I dont really want to stop. I just feel like i should.Has been going on like that for years

I just quit a couple months ago actually. The hot<-- girls don't like the stench of their smokey man. Also, had been smoking for 5 years and I hadn't realized it... I was a pack, pack 1/2 a day. Doing the math... That's pretty much 10,000+ dollars that.... Should've been invested in IM.

It's a three week thing I figure. You make it the first 7 days. Milestone. Next milestone is 3 weeks. Also, going to gas stations simply for gas is part of the battle and steering clear of smoke shops all together.

I smoke. E-Cigs are nothing like real cigarettes. I took a few hits and never got my throat burn, was worthless.
