GSA Search Engine Ranker - Extremely Powerful Linkbuilding Software (Free 5 Day Trial)

I'm not sure if it's down to the recent updates, or my new vps and proxies, or the fact that I'm starting to fully get to grips with this amazing bit of kit, but these last few days to a week this software has been flying. I'm seeing some amazing results at the moment. Finding proper relevant sites with high pr and low obl seems to me what this software does best, and it does it brilliantly.

My only suggestion, which would probably be impossible to put into place, but if it were possible for the scraping function to find it's keywords from the context or main body of the site and not the comments or trackbacks that are already on the site. For example I have an insurance niche that I'm just playing about with really. Some of the links GSA has dropped are only relevant as it has found its keywords within the comments placed by someone else in the insurance niche.

Anyone else using Proxy51 for private proxies with GSA? My account just got cancelled on account of too many spam complaints but my link volume in GSA is pretty low especially compared to proper spam soft like xrumer. Anyone else in the same boat?

Further to my previous post, i have created a basic log file sorter.
You can load a gsa *.log file and then sort it on columns such as project, start time and message, so you can group all your "captcha failed" and "download failed" etc messages together.
You can also right click a line and select 'visit website' to view the associated page in your default browser.

It is just a proof of concept really, though it may be useful for a few people. As i believe Sven will more than likely create a far better built in version sometime soon, i did not spend much time on this, and as such, it has a number of caveats:
1. It allocates data to columns by splitting lines at spaces (" "). As such, if your project name has spaces in it, it will fail, eg: "my_cool_project" or "website.com_guestbooks" is fine, "website.com guest books" will fail.
2. If Sven changes the log format it wont work
3. No error handling - if something is malformed it will just quit.

You can get it here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?udp1yu9g5jsnem6

(Requires .net 4.0 , included on modern systems, available here for older ones)

Virus total:
https://www.virustotal.com/file/1fb...899d96388030d521efce1be8/analysis/1341400450/

I'm not using them, but if you use buyproxies.org (or click the aff link in my signature) you get proxies for all BH tools (and no problems since now) for a similiar price. They promote that you can use SB, Xrumer and stuff like this. So you don't have to be scared.

3.54 Update is available now... dont know what happened to lee...?? :P

- new: better display for submitted urls
- new: improved engines again
- fix: a URL was sometimes not added to site list on import
- new: stats for site lists
- new: improved submission speed with domain filters

im not sure if im missing something but the "new: ability to delete submitted URLs (in case you don't want to wait till they get removed automatically)" is not available, neither is the delete option in the verified links section? im using [project] -> right click -> show urls -> submitted(or)verified -> right click on a url or group of urls, the delete option is gone?

Been busy being eaten by the killer attack puppy that only attacks people its supposed to protect

Plus I had two days of BHW not being found and a couple of days of killing my internet connection with a free decaptcha promotion
Did over 20k decaptchas in a day or two

Time to work on a new link building strategy while all the "mummy mummy" buttons are being added to gsa

Hey s4nt0s, just wondering if you have any more thoughts on post #924 and whether or not you think it is worth bringing it to the attention of Sven? For me at least, it appears the 'edit only engines/options' function isn't working in the way it should and can in fact do a huge amount of damage to a project, by overwriting settings, especially if a user uses it on projects that don't have identical platform/engine settings. So, for the moment there may still be a need to have a setting that allows us to "Automatically set newly added engines as active/inactive". Perhaps it could go in the Options>Advanced section.

Sven responded saying that is is supposed to be like this but he didn't really say much about it. I'll suggest to him your idea for the option to have new platforms selected by default. The thing is, you would have to remember that some platforms require more fields so you would have to remember to edit and look at the fields to make sure everything is filled out.

I've noticed for the some of the article sites that GSA tries to verify "submit.php"

If this is the case, it will never verify the link?!!

And with Article Friendly, it signs up and then tries to login instantly and you get an error message about not being an 'active author' or something? Surely it should try to sign in and submit after it has verified the emails?! So far I can't log in to one Article Friendly site.

Sven said, "Thats normal as some engines don't verify by URLs (like Blogs) but by emails or form search. So the program waits till an E-Mail arrives with the link to the Article or the program searches differently on the website. Anyway I changed that now in the list to show the domain only in that case to not confuse people."

Also, the article submissions sometimes ask for a country. Can this be filled in automatically or an option to choose country? Unless you manually enter the country the registration fails.

Sven said, "Sure, but I would need to know on what engine that happens and the URL of the site to update the script. Right now I have to optimize it blindly."

I have a suggestion for Sven: Turn off your computer and take a week off!
I am kind of worried the guy is going to burn out with all the requests he keeps getting, and that would be a real shame.

That said, if he could document the scripting engine (eg how ini files are built, yeah i know ive asked about this a lot) and add a debug mode (i will explain in a bit) then he could go on vacation and let the community work for him rather than tie him up with a thousand emails.

My idea for a good debugging mode (others please comment as we all test differently):

1. Limit max connections and max sites processed so people dont use debug mode all the time then complain its slow :-)

2. Write log to a sortable listview rather than a textbox. That way you can sort on the columns to group things easily (i can write an app to do this from an existing text log if Sven doesnt want to do this, but i hope he will).

3. Save the downloaded html (to a temp directory) for each site, and add a clickable link to the corresponding file in an extra column in the log, so we can inspect for our selves what went wrong.
EG:

Svens respone, "Well there exists a lot debug options already if I compile it differently for myself. It creates html files, creates log files where something might have gone wrong (new identified variables in forms, submit link not found, unknown submission status, registration+login OK but no submission in some way...). Without that I would be completely lost ;) But I don't want to make that public as I want the debug stuff in the Editor later on. Maybe I add something very basic to it, I will have to think about it."

Hi all, I've noticed something odd with Article submissions. This was for the Article Friendly site, I managed to get some to submit but some don't, and I've been getting a lot of this error message.

11:06:10: [-] 02/87 submission failed (we're sorry, but your article is below our minimum)

I then went to the job, and bought up the test page and took the same information and submitted it manually. It worked fine.

I've been article marketing for a long time, using tools like AMR. So I've done everything I know to get it to submit. I found this a bit odd. Is there a way to get more information about what exactly was the problem with submission because the article meets the standard when submitted manually.

Sven said, "Maybe because he has a spin syntax combination that is to less when it was submitted."

Me - I know this isn't right, he might now understand how you did it manually. I'll have to try and get him to look into this more.

This is awesome, he has put in most of my big request now :)

A few things.

1. The progress window that shows when it is scanning a big list and identifying them before putting them into the right site lists, this window shows two rows, one is labeled as Identified, the other is not labeled. I can easily assume it is for the unidentified ones, but it would be nice if it said that.

2. When I import a big list it is going really fast, it seems to be causing a problem. I am getting a lot of these messages in the log window "16:42 | SiteList | [-] Unable to save URL to site list file (no rights to write?)." It is actually writing them, not all of them. It would seem to be going so fast that it is trying to open the file twice at the same time, sometimes. Maybe it should queue up the results until it has 10 or 20 or even 100 to write? Something so it doesnt run into this condition.

3. This is just an extra but it would be great to have a list of the site files and the number of lines in them on that screen (the Advanced one,) or maybe a Stats entry on the new Tools button/menu on there. Something that shows how many sites we have in our lists.

4. The last thing is to try and clarify that the two ways these lists are made should actually be creating two lists, not one. The lists of sites that have actually been posted to is one list, its nice to have the successful/verified ones. But the list of sites that come from an import of a huge scrape from scrapebox should not go into that same list. I am getting these scanned through so I can import them to projects and run them. In the current method I am going to be duplicating a LOT of effort by re-loading the same lists with some new additions every time. This slowdown will negate any gained value from having this feature in the first place. I would like the ones that I import from a scrape to go into some sort of secondary set of files that I can use to import as targets.

Responses from Sven:

1) Yes, fixed that now. Stupid bug :/

2) Fixed.

3) Sounds useful, will add that for next version.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My response for #4. I have no idea how this happened but #4 was left out of the email I sent Sven last night! I know that was the most important one so I'll send that now. Sorry Anon, I knew you were looking forward to that one.

:(

Maybe I add something very basic to it, I will have to think about it."

Fair enough, i see the logic behind it. Maybe the editor will be a paid addition, it will give him some more money for his time.
If he needs to test the new editor, i can think of a good candidate!

Thanks for the update s4nt0s!

Sven responded saying that is is supposed to be like this but he didn't really say much about it.

It is kind of strange if that is the case. In order to use it in this way a user would need to open each project individually beforehand to check that they all have the same platforms and engines selected. That in itself defeats the object of having it at all.

I'll suggest to him your idea for the option to have new platforms selected by default. The thing is, you would have to remember that some platforms require more fields so you would have to remember to edit and look at the fields to make sure everything is filled out.

Thanks!

I don't think it will be a problem because the option would only be used to set the new engines as active/inactive. I guess what I really mean is for them to be either selected or deselected. Whether they are active or not will depend on whether the platform itself is checked. As such, the platforms are irrelevant in this instance as they should remain in their original selected/deselected state regardless of any other changes or engine additions. I guess it is possible that a new engine might necessitate additional fields being added but for the most part we've got everything covered with the fields that are already there. For example, in comparison to other 'article' engines the new tikiwiki engine that was recently added actually only uses data from a few of the available fields.

Anyway, nothing is urgent. Perhaps I am thinking a bit too far ahead to the day when I have hundreds of projects set up whereby some of the features I have suggested might be a huge time saver. I'm more than happy with the software as it is, and I'm blown away by how frequent the updates are (It's almost like having your own full time developer for a one time payment, with no OTO's or upsells either!).

BTW, you're also doing a great job here. So many thanks for that too!

is anyone else noticing that the delete submitted or verified links option is not available in the latest update? could someone else check to see if the option is in their right click menu since 3.54?

also @s4nt0s, could u pass on a feature request to sven (if u and others think it is useful), to have the ability to create project groups within project groups (parent/child groups), at least 1 extra level deep.. for example:
[project example1.com] -> project1
[project example1.com] -> project2
[project example1.com] -> [bookmarks group1] -> project3
[project example1.com] -> [bookmarks group1] -> project4
[project example1.com] -> project5
[project example1.com] -> project6
...
[project example2.com] -> project7
...etc
it seems at present if u try to put a project that is already inside a group, into a new (sub)group, SER creates a new 1st level group and moves the project to that. not a big deal but would make it easier to keep multiple sites/projects more neat and accessible, especially when running larger numbers of projects (duplicates and the like). with 1 extra level deep, if needed, we could kind of mimic the SER engine options setup for each project and divide up projects according to engine types or whatever if need be :)

basically the same way the tier levels are set up (multiple deep), but for groups

Ya I'll try to see if we can get something figured out for that feature you requested.

Thanks for the kind words. :)

To everyone from the U.S.A. be safe and have a Happy 4th of July. :)

I'll definitely pass it on to Sven to see what he thinks.

For the delete submitted/verified links. Where was the button you're talking about? In the verified links window where you can export the link data, etc?

Can I suggest a "Allow x submissions/verifications per x days" option? I appreciate that there's a pause after x submissions for x mins but if you have to restart the program for whatever reason (upgrade, for example...) it seems to reset the counter to zero. This way you could ask for 50 verifications per day and the system keeps track of it for you.

I'll let him know your request.

Priority will automatically change. I have a project with priority ++, sometimes the other project's priority will automatically change to ++ too.
Is this a bug?

It shouldn't be doing that. I haven't noticed this on my projects but I'll send it to Sven so he can look into it.

Just tried this program about 5 hours ago and I'm GLUED to my PC! I can't stop being amazed at all the links it is creating with my defined filters (like how many OBLs, the PR, the specific domain, etc.)! I know this tool is supposed to be auto-pilot but I can't keep smiling in front of my PC!

Bought the Indexer too since it's a one-time payment and cancelled my Lindexed subscription. Only problem is they couldn't verify two of my credit cards so I had to be phone verified! Wish there was a PayPal payment option as I don't want the wife to see I'm spending more money for SEO! :P
