GSA Search Engine Ranker - Extremely Powerful Linkbuilding Software (Free 5 Day Trial)

Hi all, I've noticed something odd with Article submissions. This was for the Article Friendly site, I managed to get some to submit but some don't, and I've been getting a lot of this error message.

11:06:10: [-] 02/87 submission failed (we're sorry, but your article is below our minimum)

I then went to the job, and bought up the test page and took the same information and submitted it manually. It worked fine.

I've been article marketing for a long time, using tools like AMR. So I've done everything I know to get it to submit. I found this a bit odd. Is there a way to get more information about what exactly was the problem with submission because the article meets the standard when submitted manually.

I'll find out what's going on with that.

speaking of the text captcha, i have noticed a few pop up windows asking for text captcha responses, was this always the case and i just never caught it or is it something new (that is already recording our responses for future use?)

Good question, if it does record responses I might type a few in!

This has been in the software for a long time. Yes it remembers the answers if the submission was successful.

3.53 - new: import URLs to site lists (download URLs + identify the used engine)
- new: ability to get chart for engine types instead of engine name
- fix: setting for site list folder was ignored
- new: ability to use site lists for projects
- new: priority setting in project list
3.52 - new: option to add already verified URLs to site

This is awesome, he has put in most of my big request now :)

A few things.

1. The progress window that shows when it is scanning a big list and identifying them before putting them into the right site lists, this window shows two rows, one is labeled as Identified, the other is not labeled. I can easily assume it is for the unidentified ones, but it would be nice if it said that.

2. When I import a big list it is going really fast, it seems to be causing a problem. I am getting a lot of these messages in the log window "16:42 | SiteList | [-] Unable to save URL to site list file (no rights to write?)." It is actually writing them, not all of them. It would seem to be going so fast that it is trying to open the file twice at the same time, sometimes. Maybe it should queue up the results until it has 10 or 20 or even 100 to write? Something so it doesnt run into this condition.

3. This is just an extra but it would be great to have a list of the site files and the number of lines in them on that screen (the Advanced one,) or maybe a Stats entry on the new Tools button/menu on there. Something that shows how many sites we have in our lists.

4. The last thing is to try and clarify that the two ways these lists are made should actually be creating two lists, not one. The lists of sites that have actually been posted to is one list, its nice to have the successful/verified ones. But the list of sites that come from an import of a huge scrape from scrapebox should not go into that same list. I am getting these scanned through so I can import them to projects and run them. In the current method I am going to be duplicating a LOT of effort by re-loading the same lists with some new additions every time. This slowdown will negate any gained value from having this feature in the first place. I would like the ones that I import from a scrape to go into some sort of secondary set of files that I can use to import as targets.

I'll be sending this suggestions to Sven later tonight. :)

I have a suggestion for Sven: Turn off your computer and take a week off!
I am kind of worried the guy is going to burn out with all the requests he keeps getting, and that would be a real shame.

That said, if he could document the scripting engine (eg how ini files are built, yeah i know ive asked about this a lot) and add a debug mode (i will explain in a bit) then he could go on vacation and let the community work for him rather than tie him up with a thousand emails.

My idea for a good debugging mode (others please comment as we all test differently):

1. Limit max connections and max sites processed so people dont use debug mode all the time then complain its slow :-)

2. Write log to a sortable listview rather than a textbox. That way you can sort on the columns to group things easily (i can write an app to do this from an existing text log if Sven doesnt want to do this, but i hope he will).

3. Save the downloaded html (to a temp directory) for each site, and add a clickable link to the corresponding file in an extra column in the log, so we can inspect for our selves what went wrong.
EG:

HTML:
[08:16:51] | web.com: | [-] 007/183 | can`t get question text http://www.target.com | C:\gsa\temp\sources\007.html (clickable)

This will be slow and take up space, hence point 1, but will help us see what is really going on behind the scenes.

With a well documented scripting engine (ini file) guide and a good debug mode, he will get nice emails like:

Hello Sven, i have updated the 'x' platform to cover versions 3.x which have a different profile url. I have also attached a new platform 'xxxx' it is currently about 70% successful. Have a nice day and bad luck about the football!

EDIT

Until this happens, i do have some questions that could help me a lot.

How does text captcha solving work ( i see a text_captcha.dat file, it seems to be plain text), and how can i check if a particular platform is attempting to use the built in solve method (I do NOT see references to this dat file in the few engines i checked)?
I would like to believe that any engine that needs it uses this file somehow, but it seems many engines work in different ways, eg: 1 engine will look for a register link then click it. Another engine will scrape using inurl opporators, so it only finds register pages (for example, phpBB does this). If i import a list of sites with homepages for this engine, it wont work.

Provided text_captcha.dat is/can be implemented, can i add to it manually? For example xrummer 7 has a massive list, im sure i could acquire it.

If it can be added to manually, i have a feature request (i get the irony): Have to option to save text captchas encountered to a file. That way i can run a huge list, then open the file and answer the questions in one go (or pay someone to do so :-) ), add them to text_captcha.dat, then rerun the list. This would be far more efficient than sitting in front of the screen and typing into popup windows.

Finally, just to note that even if this software never got updated again, its still worth many times the price.

Thanks for this great suggestions. Like I had it in my mind. This would be soooo great :) Thanks and rep given for these suggestions.. I see a few people here are thinking in the same direction. Definitely +1 from me for these suggestions.

Also +1 for Sven to take one week off. It's impressive. And I think he should get more out of it than 87$ bucks for lifetime. I hope he changes for new users to a subscription mode to be sure that he's getting enough $$$ from SER to keep him motivated and/or hire additional programmers to support him. I'm sure I'll never hope again a SEO product is getting more expensive in future, but SER is every cent worth - best SEO tool I ever used. I would also prefer it before SB.

I've had a problem with proxies - all were "not working" when checked, even although they were freshly scraped, freshly checked in SB and even my private proxies were "bad". After going into a slight panic mode I figured out (with the help from Sven) it was my router that somehow was blocking them. Have it now on a VPS and it's cooking!

I'm getting familiar with the GSA and was pleasantly surprised when I saw "Welcome to Black Hat Forum Black Hat SEO! in my inbox for successful submissions :peace:

For anyone that hasn't figured out what the settings mean in the new priority column:

-- = Lowest
- = Low
+ = Normal
++ = Highest

Click in the column to change.

Also, if anyone forgets what the symbols mean they can simply right click on a project and select priority and it shows what each symbol means. :)

Great suggestion by whoever thought of the idea of importing url's and allowing GSA SER to filter and sort them :)

I don't have the text_captcha.dat file in any of the folders. Is it still saving it when I type or should I add this file manually?

Go to your start menu in windows and type in the search box > %APPDATA% and you'll see a folder pop up, then select the gsa ser folder and you'll see it in there.

Hey s4nt0s, just wondering if you have any more thoughts on post #924 and whether or not you think it is worth bringing it to the attention of Sven? For me at least, it appears the 'edit only engines/options' function isn't working in the way it should and can in fact do a huge amount of damage to a project, by overwriting settings, especially if a user uses it on projects that don't have identical platform/engine settings. So, for the moment there may still be a need to have a setting that allows us to "Automatically set newly added engines as active/inactive". Perhaps it could go in the Options>Advanced section.

Hey, I don't think it was suppose to work that way. I rebooted my VPS so I'm just waiting so I can RDP back in and test it. I'll forward your concern to Sven tonight.

I tried the demo and on the 3rd day I had to reboot my PC and when I tried to start GSA it says "Demo Expired"??

Initially I tried to avoid pages with more than 25 links but after half a day not even 1 link was verified lol so I uncheck that and I got 2000+ almost 3000 submitted after 3 days running straight but only 100+ verified is this normal?

I'll really need to have more demo time to tweak it before purchasing it. Thanks.

What kind of links were they? I'm assuming blog comments. Did you try running active verify at all to have it run through the verification process or did you just let it run the whole time?

I see SEO Indexer quick index mode is added. Wow, talk about responsive to customer suggestions! FYI, I tested SEO Indexer on a new site. In less than 24 hours the homepage was indexed. In less than 48 hours 75% of the MN was indexed. I'm certainly impressed. Considering Search Engine Ranker's effectiveness as well, these are a lot of tools for a little money. Well worth the price. Keep up the great work!

This thing is just flying now with the Private proxies.

1-day with private proxies
2265 - Submitted
578 - Verified

4-days with scraped proxies
2092 - Submitted
472 - Verified

Also with the private proxies I have 4 other projects running (with similar stats) and with the scraped proxies I only had that one project.
