GSA Search Engine Ranker - Extremely Powerful Linkbuilding Software (Free 5 Day Trial)

@S4nt0s: I think for newbies it's hard to know which field is used for what and where should the links put into. Perhaps an overview about this would be nice. This and grouping of errors would enormous improove choosing the right settings/content.

Yes I'll try to get something together to explain the fields. The grouping errors I have told Sven about and he ended up adding the ability to "save logs" but I guess he didn't understand the error grouping. I'll try to explain it to him again.

Thats pretty strange. I 1st encountered blocklist.de a while back when moving from a slow but bulletproof server to a faster less tolerant one.
Though the complaint i received was a standard 'bad bot' one, from a wordpress honeypot (joy of f*cking joys! now i need proxies to spam aa lists FFS!).

That report is strange. Its mentions a login-attack and remote file inclusion attack.
My guess (and its only a guess) is that the proxy being tested is somehow a honeypot its self, and you hit it enough times to trigger a report.

This is pretty scary stuff to be honest.
Your host seems pretty cool with BH tools so i suggest telling them what you have been doing, and asking them about the report type.
Please share your results as well.

Yeah, scared the heck out of me.

They didn't give me much info. I don't think he quite understood the complaint himself. He basically thought it was a spam report for scrapebox or Xrumer. When I tried to explain to him that this was a proxy report he didn't understand, but he was nice enough to get me setup again with a new IP address.

I had a port scan complaint on one of my vps servers. Turns out there was port scan log file in my list of proxy sources. I took it out and I haven't had a problem since.

That's one of the default proxy sources? Why would he put that in there? Which source was a port scan log file?

I'm surprised nobody else caught this.

No, not really. Just use private proxies, they are quiet affordable. I think they have reported you because of "port scanning". When you can afford a VPS, then I think you can afford a few proxies too.. (and they are much more stable than harvested proxies).

It's not as simple as you're making it out to be.

Which one are you using Lee? I'm using atm proxybonanza who provides me 70 proxies / month for 22$ - but only with 15 GB traffic. I've just ordered another dedicated server (Core i7-2600, 16GB Ram, 120GB SSD, 1Gbit till 15 TB traffic, then 100mbit). So I think if there is really a better one, I'm open for it...

Thanks for these checks :) Sounds perfect! I've to watch my traffic log, if this is handable or if I need proxies with unlimited. Tought I've tried the "everything" option, which consumed A LOT of course.

Proxybonanza doesn't allow any xrumer blasting (no kind of mass profiling linking) or scrapebox commenting. Most private proxy services don't allow stuff like that. Buyproxies.org was the only reasonably priced service I saw that allowed this kind of software.

oh god has this turned into a proxy thread???

private proxies are much more reliable and faster than public ones which WILL die very quickly and generally be slower.
if you can afford to purchase a fully spec'd vps you can afford private proxies!

get yourself 10 shared private proxies pm if you fancy using my affiliate link :p

That's pretty dismissive. It's not like I'm paying a lot of money for my VPS. It's only $40 a month and I can run GSA SER with 70 threads no problem.

It's not as simple as you're making it out to be.

Of course it's a little bit more complicated. But what's your time worth? Is it worth to loose hours, when you have an affordable possibility to find a way around it? It's always the same problems, if you don't buy private or at least private shared proxies you're running into problems. When a tool is used which scrapes proxies from the web and try different ports, it possible to trigger such a script. But that shows it again: you need to use proxies, and you don't have such problems.

Didn't knew this, I've used it multiple months for all kind of such services like SB, SER. Never had problems with them, and I used the shared offer. But you are right, I've switched to buyproxies.org because they are offering unmetered proxies for an affordable price (like you can see in my signature :P).

is this tool really worth using?

i see negative post about it

I was linking to 100 web 2.0s in 1 project and most of them went up in rankings. So for the short period of time I used the program it did seem to work pretty well. Despite my problems I went ahead and bought the product.

This was my point. Most don't allow xrumer/scrapebox. I just bought the 30 semi-dedicated package. Hopefully that will be enough.

I have requested Sven add a change log to the SI like the one in SER so we can know what has updated etc.
We'll have to wait and see if he implements it?

I haven't noticed it use to much resources, how many threads do you run it with?

I would love to see this also.

seems we now have the option to slow submissions down as requested!! not sure i'm too happy with that one.

3.43 - new: option to check a submission url/domain against a online blacklist
- new: ability to import verified URLs to a project
with popupmenu on project->Show URLs->verified->popup menu on URLs->Import

- new: ability to use mouse wheel when editing projects
- new: ability to put projects in groups (use popup menu)
- new: improved some engines again
- new: gui improved a bit

What is the point of the bold? Is that so we create auto approve lists for new projects?

TIA

Use these guys, 100 connections per proxy
http://buyproxies.org/

You get what you pay for and by the sounds of it, your cost cutting is not working

These guys are the best and the support dude is super helpful and responsive. Have been using them for 6 months and never had any issues.

Hey , for the future update cant it be made so that when we choose which captcha service to use if we choose the first one as CS we would be able to choose the second one as CS as well so if the first try fails it can try again , or does that work if i just set the retry to 2 or 3 ?

Just set the retry to more than 0!

But why would you keep sending failed captchas to CS?

No update required. As you've mentioned, just increase the number of CS retries. Additionally, for the second Captcha option; "if the first service fails" set another service, e.g. Decaptcher, as a backup.

Just wondering; apart from media wiki is anyone else struggling to get links from the other seven article platforms that SER submits to? Actually, the same goes for videos.

A suggestions for SEO indexer would be to include a fast indexer mode for larger backlink lists. Running around 20 threads, it takes about 20 minutes to submit one backlink. This does not make SEO indexer feasible for large lists as 20 threads could only process around 72 backlinks per day. For example, a fast indexer mode could submit to the top 100 or 200 sites out of the entire list.

SEO Indexer is a good software title and its integration with Search Engine Ranker is nice. But a quicker and not so thorough fast index mode would be helpful to process/index large lists.

Keep up the great work GSA and thanks for taking this under consideration! :)

I've noticed this too. If you select just Articles, then you get lots of MediaWiki verified links and virtually no other article links.
Maybe Sven could check the search and/or email verification of the 'other' article type links is working Ok.

Yes I agree. I think it works by submitting each verified link to multiple indexer sites (possibly 100's or 1000's), so if Sven could add options for the user to select the number of indexer sites each link was submitted to, I think that would improve the 'indexing speed'.

Thanks s4nt0s for trying it again. I think this is really essential especially for new users. It would be help to have for EACH field the information wher it's used and what are the best settings (optimal length/word count, if it make sense to use an url inside it). This is a very unclear part in SER and I think a lot users are giving a lot potential away because they don't know what they should use and just try around. Also it's very basic information.

The logfile-filter/grouping for errors is also a very important part. Otherwise it's too easy to overlook problems and give again a lot potential away.

Personally I don't think google likes this kind of spamming to index links - especially not if it's a high count. It works, but it's really dirty. Why aren't you using one of the indexing solutions which is supported? In my case, I prefer to use the CPU-Power and bandwith for other stuff than indexing.

The majority of Article sites are not auto approve, so unless your article is very well written, it wont get through. Media Wiki is not really an article site at all, you are just posting content onto a profile page, which is Auto Approve, so you see more success.

Just because GSA can post to hundreds of different platforms in one go, doesnt mean that is the best way to go about it.

If you are particularly interested in posting articles, go check out some AMR threads for best practices (such as content length etc) then apply them to GSA and test.

Same applies for other platforms. If there is a popular, dedicated software for the platforms you want to post to, read up on that softwares best practices and apply them to GSA.

GSA is incredibly powerful, but with such a diverse list of target platforms, it will take a while to dial them all in perfectly. Test each platform, and if you spot a bug (eg fails on a specific platform version), either report it to the developer with full details (PLEASE dont waste his time with vague questions) or if you dont know how to test in detail, report it on this thread and me or others can test more thoroughly.

That said, it does work great 'out of the box', but you can squeeze more out of it by following these steps.

I completly agree with you. But to give more exact information to s4nt0s or sven, we need to debug and know the basic stuff (see my posting above). We can provide more detailed information, but to do this, we need to know a little bit more about the basics and have the possitiblity to debug/detect errors.

Some backlink indexing solutions group dozes of your backlinks and post them on the same page to crawl. This, combined with the use of private networks to index backlinks, are a couple of the reasons why I prefer to avoid these footprints.

Agreed, some extra reporting functions would be useful.
If you are currently doing testing, and would like to be able to group log messages, it can be acheievd fairly simply using notepad++

Choose save log to files, and when done, open it in notepad++. Then do search > find. Select the Mark Lines checkbox, enter in your 'find' text (eg. 'Download failed' and click find all. Then go to search > copy bookmarked lines.
Then open a new file, and paste.
You now have all 'Download failed' logs in one place.

Question:

When I import a list of URL to the project, how do I tell GSA to post on the imported urls first?

After importing urls to a project I usually notice that GSA keeps searching for engines and posting regularly and then after a while, it starts to post on the imported ones. I would like the imported engines to go first.

Thanks
