GSA Search Engine Ranker - Extremely Powerful Linkbuilding Software (Free 5 Day Trial)

Thanks for clarification, this makes sense of course. I think it depends how many projects are running together. If there are a lot projects (= a lot more search queries), then it's possible that search engines ban the ip when no proxies are used.

In proxy settings there are multiple options: searching, posting, everything. I'm not sure what "posting" means. Is it just used to post the form, or does "posting" mean everything beside searching? I've also the problem that bandwith on proxies is quiet expensive, not the proxies themself and "everything beside searching" would consume a lot bandwith.

I doubt the number of projects will make a difference. I gather the program works on x threads (user set, eg 50), and divides them amongst projects. So with only one project, whilst scraping there would be 50 simultaneous connections, with 5 projects, the same amongst.
In fact, as all 5 projects are unlikely to be in harvest mode at the same time, it would seem more projects would mean less simultaneous connections to a search engine.

You're right. To be exact, it depends how balanced the actions are. If it is the same "stress level" for search engines but splited to multiple projects, it doesn't matters. If there is more stress to the search engine it does.

Personaly I've ah bad feeling using SE with my main IP without proxy for such actions, because it is damn easy for google for example, to detect searching for footprints too. So I think if it's possible to use a proxy, then we should.

The other thing is the difference between "searching", "posting" and "everything". What exactly does "posting" means? Is it everything - searching (s4nt0s?)? Don't know if it's possible to use proxies only to send forms, but if it's too hard to archive, then I think I'll get (more expensiv) proxies with unlimited bandwith.

I use private proxies for posting only, and this means they're only used when submitting a form eg comment form, not when submitting a search form.

Sorry perhaps I was perhaps a little bit blurry (or my English is too bad). I meant not search formes. What I meant was actions like verfiying links, downloading HTML sourcecode and so on. Are they ONLY used for posting FORMS (sening data for the backlink themself and not for checks)?

Just buy some decent proxies with no traffic limits.
Company I use, do shared at a decent price. Max three users per proxy
I had a problem last night and ended up being given five extra freebies for the rest of this months billing period
And they allow xrummer etc to be used. Tell them the software you use and they try and aim your proxies around that software

From my proxy logs it looks like theyre only used for posting forms, not during the checking/validating process, or downloading html

Which one are you using Lee? I'm using atm proxybonanza who provides me 70 proxies / month for 22$ - but only with 15 GB traffic. I've just ordered another dedicated server (Core i7-2600, 16GB Ram, 120GB SSD, 1Gbit till 15 TB traffic, then 100mbit). So I think if there is really a better one, I'm open for it...

Thanks for these checks :) Sounds perfect! I've to watch my traffic log, if this is handable or if I need proxies with unlimited. Tought I've tried the "everything" option, which consumed A LOT of course.

Use these guys, 100 connections per proxy

You get what you pay for and by the sounds of it, your cost cutting is not working

s4nt0s, did u get a chance to ask sven about this? ^^^ for some reason ever since updating to 3.42 (and continuing with 3.43) i am getting a lot of download failed errors even though set up is the same (and i can manually verify the links are working).

also, next time u contact him, can u ask him about the possibility to provide an option to choose link engine types when creating tiered link campaigns? (maybe in the pull down menu of 'use verified urls of'?) it would be much easier than having to create separate projects for different engines to just build additional tier links to the verified urls and not for example build tier 2 links to guestbook pages that ur link has moved from to another page already or whois/statistics pages etc.

He added the ability to save the log file if you right click in the log file box and choose "Log to file" but it doesn't group the errors together. You would have to use Cntrl + F to find errors you are looking for.

Is there a 'distinct' difference between using these shared proxies and what GSA will harvest itself. For $10 p/month it seems like a worthwhile investment if there is a noticeable difference.

I found someone else recommend them on here a few months back
Been using them for three months now without any problem and their support is spot on as you can see above from my problem last night.

Scraped proxies, you will find a lot are down.
With shared and dedicated proxies, they will all be working

3.44 - new: ability to import Target URLs from Clipboard
- new: ability to delete Target URL History
- new: better verification system from emails
- fix: minor bug with captcha detection
- new: minor improves on some engines
- fix: minor bug with link detection on very bad formated html
- new: more statistic site detections
- fix: minor bug fixes on multible project edit
- new: project tree view will stay as it is after editing a project

oh god has this turned into a proxy thread???

private proxies are much more reliable and faster than public ones which WILL die very quickly and generally be slower.
if you can afford to purchase a fully spec'd vps you can afford private proxies!

get yourself 10 shared private proxies pm if you fancy using my affiliate link :p

No it's a thread about how to get most out of SER ;)

Very true, but I decided to outsource the 24/7 tools from my workstation and if I do this - for about 100$/month - then I do it right ;) It's of course not only for SER, I let run other tools of course on this server too.

I hope he is adding this too, because this abbility whould give the possibility to optimize the own configuration a lot and experiment with different contents to get most out of it :)

Has anyone else encountered this issue? I have roughly 70 projects. I've got them setup, and they've been running fine without much issue until recently. However now, when i start GSA SER, make sure all projects are 'active' and click the 'start' button, they'll all setup and start as normal, but over the course of a few minutes the majority will stop one by one by themselves. The projects are no longer highlighted in green, but go back to white, and the text field at the bottom of the screen displays 'Project stopped!'.

After getting loads of "verification faild" and "download errors" I thought that I would make the log box bigger so that I could take a snapshot of the log (main screen, bottom).
Now I cannot get the log screen to go bak to normal size. I used to be able to see all of my projects at a glance, now I can only see the top few and have to use the scrollbar to see the rest.
This happened last night, I thought that when it updates again it might return back to normal, but it has not.
Anyone else have this problem?

Any of you guys using linkilicious with this?
If so, what do you put in GSA's box where it asks for the ID?

The trouble I have is that asks for my linkilicious ID and not the API key.
I do not know what my linkilicious ID is, I emailed linkilicious support and they said was that they have never heard of GSA and told me to use the API.

I tried to enter my email as the ID, then I tried the API but still not having any joy. I have to copy all the links into a txt file and upload it manually. I could live with that, but it means that I end up copying links that I have already sent.

I'll PM you regarding this.

Are you not able to resize it? Everything should be resizable by clicking and dragging.

No I can't resize it. I did make the box bigger to look over my log files, now it won't let me change it back

I had the same issue. It's a bug. I fixed it by playing around with maximizing it but i also contacted Sven, he sent me the name of the .ini file you can delete to fix it (don;t remember which it was nor have the email otherwise I would tell you). Contact him if you can't fix it he is super responsive. I only wish he made more software for SEO. S4ntos is probably pretty much a genius for teaming up with him since this is probably the most actively developed software in the SEO community.
