Yahoo Site Explorer Is Back! (Now Bing Link Explorer)

I had to verify a site first. It's ok. I don't think it's nearly as good as Yahoo's explorer was. Their other tools are pretty pathetic. It's amazing this company dominates the OS, because honestly they suck at web.

so can this be considered as a decent alternatave to something like, say magesticseo? also i believe it would only show backlinks indexed by bing and not google or yahoo?

Probably the best news I have heard in recent times. It's still in Beta so hopefully they will add more features :D

They suck because they are doing what brings money

Why would they waste money more than what they need ? There is google who dominates all the web market

To make money and dominate the market you have to attract traffic first.

To attract traffic you have to be better than competitors, introduce features that cannot be found otherwise, and most important never downgrade/close features that were already introduced to the market.

This is CRAP. I had to create an email address, then sign in, then verify site ownership, and finally showed 19 backlinks whereas my site has more than 1000 backlinks.

Yahoo Site Explorer didn't require sign in, showed 1000 backlinks, and I could check competition's backlinks too.

So this is by far not even close to what YSE was.

Best news for me so far this day. If its back then it will be great.

Wow. Finally it is back. I had been using shitty link checkers with daily limits and all, finally I can check links to my heart's content. \m/

Google's is still better than Bing's. It shows more backlinks and the website addition process is easier, where Bing requires personal details.

Yeah, kinda sucks. Shows me 40 backlinks out of thousands. Maybe they will add YSE data and YSE checking algorithm and it will show more backlinks then.

After careful examination, YSE is not back. :yield:

The service being provided by Bing is part of what they are classifying as the,"Phoenix" update of their Bing Webmaster Tools. In this update they have added the, "Link Explorer" and some other tools.

But Bing's new Link Explorer in nowhere like YSE was; not even after you sign up for a Windows Live ID and then create a Webmaster Tools account. After taking those 2 steps, they only give you a snippet of the actual backlinks that you may have.

My rating on a scale of "1" to "5"?

I give this new Bing tool a 1.3 and only because it is free.

Oh. I thought that they're really back. Ok, let's give bing a chance to improve.

D.

Not even remotely close to yse, but I guess it will become better in the coming days. Bing is realizing that they have an opportunity now to become more popular among webmasters
