When the 301 redirects are initiated, the 301 code is put at the top of each post. The post content is still there. Technically the bots can still read the content, but it falls out of the index after a while.
The beauty here is that the Spun (low-quality) content gets your page ranked for the long-tail keywords. Then after the post redirects, your REAL post takes it place and the low-quality post falls out of the index like it never happened.

Well it defaults to uncatogorized so I just put all my other blog posts in another category so that solved my problem.
I am new to redirects. After the posts get hit with the redirect do they still get crawled? I am just wondering if the quality of the articles can comprise the websites rankings.
