I'm with the wait and see crowd. There are those that can't afford to wait but theres no baseline to test anything right now with all the shit jumping around like jackrabbits.

I've looked at the sites above me in the rankings and this is what they are doing: nothing at all. It seems most of the sites outranking mine after the update have very few backlinks.

I have noticed the exact same thing! Sites with 0 backlinks, no PR are ranking #1 for medium difficulty keywords. And just like others have said, amazon, web 2.0's, really new sites, youtube are ranking really high. Maybe time to start not doing any backlinks

Noticed the exact same thing. My social proofed sites are still in-tact. My sites without FB/RTs dropped.

Same here. The only site I saw significant dropping in was one that I purchased and haven't done any SEO on. Sites I did my own SEO on with a heavy emphasis on social have been fine.

Post thousand of unique articles and let it rank itself and hope G will rank ur site on page 1 one day without any backlink?

Same here, my MNS that earning well from Adsense have lost its rankings. But I wonder why my new MNS with no adsense yet have increased in keyword rankings.

I had rankings drop also for one site then I looked and found out that a new plugin had a fatal error and the site would not load will see in a couple of days.

My sites have all gone up. I got hit with an earlier panda update and have made a point to really diversify the keywords linking to my site since then. I have built links pretty hard on one of the sites in the last month as well.

I was doing some free ORM on an unknown customer, so I could try an hone my skills, I was dripping scrapebox blast, web 2.0, bookmarking and article directories with varying in keywords for the scrapebox blast only. Now all those sites , 8 of them in total, 5 of which where above the negative page and three that where bellow are now gone to page 11-20 of google search. Now Im thinking of blasting the hell out off the ripoff report and checking out what will happen.

Arg! Am a n00b here so apologies my 1st post is going to be a rant but I am SOOOO flippin' tired of Google!! Stumbled onto this site yesterday searching out stuff, joined today and here is the first I've seen of this new "news" so I haven't checked any stats/rankings yet but this has been going on with me since last April and I've done nothing but try to play by their annoying rules only to get tossed under the bus and kicked in the arse over and over and over again and I'm fed up.

I'm so sorry for all of you (and I did read all 4 pages) who are taking a hit. Surely there has to be a way to beat this big "G" back down to size.

What stuns me the most that for over 10 years of the 12-plus I've been online, everything was fine. Then bam...the last year it's just one mess after another and it never ends - and no one knows what the heck to do!

I think I'm losing it. So sorry. But it did feel good to rant... and to see I'm not alone in this mess.

you are aware that amazon, web 2.0s, youtube and wikipedia are the MOST BACKLINKED sites on the web right?
and amazon has some of the dirtiest 2nd hand backlinks around
think, you spam comments @ articles, web 2.0s and at wikis that then link to your site right?
everyone does
if google started really hitting spammy links, you'd see articles sink first, then wikis and then web 2.0s
(based on % of natural nonspam backlinks)
if they instead hit the sites that have no outbound links that are targets of spammy links, you'd see what we are seeing today
that being said, if amazon crashes in serps then you know spam doesn't work anymore
(one amazon mns tends to have over 100+ links to different amazon pages, and is usually powered by a multi tiered ranking campaign, so the net effect would make amazon's head first on the block)

This is such a dangerous algo implementation, it's borderline irresponsible for the sake of the integrity Google is hoping to foster in their search results.

So instead of having people advertise their products and making Google money too in the process, they rather invite dubious characters to use dubious tactics instead of having some spam here and there.

It's not like the internet is unnavigable...Christ...Google needs to relax. I think they're being lobbied by bigger companies who are seeing small fries outrank them and are threatening to pull out (and you know how much Google hates when you pull out; the slut.).
