Yeah, the next update will be called the over diversification penalty. And punish all those sites that have too many variations of anchor text.

dmm cunt ... I mean cutts.

Im going to learn PPC via FB now.

Some of my sites have been shot too, let's de-optimize them a little bit and see what happens...

Hahahahaha ... it's funny, but who knows that would be implemented by Google in the future.

Hey guys! Just a heads up, I blasted one of my website with 1,00,000 links using several keyword variations. My site was on page 1 before penguin, page 3 after penguin and page 11 after the sb blast. Don't try this!

maybe the normal post-blast dance ? (if it's an old site, not fresh one)
It won't be surprising to see it come back #1 in a few weeks

The site is 3 years old exact match domain and I blasted it 1 week back. Anyway I'll update you guys if some miracle happens. :D

Guys, I came across an automated link removal software/site that claims to help remove unnatural links. It's expensive but looks pretty cool.

You can get a prediction free but I can't post a link so do a search for: 'Remove'em: The Bad Backlink Removal Tool and Service'

What you guys reckon?

looks over priced, but i guess it all depends on how big a problem you have...

There is no way to 'remove' links automatically like that.

The closest thing you could do is go to Majestic, get access to your backlink profile, block incoming links from all bad links via your htaccess.

It doesn't promise to remove them, it just tells you "problem links" and apparently then has you find the owner of each site via whois and email them asking they remove the link.
Genius, I tells ya. Genius!

I'm familiar with 301 redirects and the like but I didn't know you could block incoming links in htaccess! How do you go about that? Is it an effective solution?

This service is basically for the lazy folks. They basically charge you around $20 per link removal, and they probably just hire someone from India to go contact the linking site and ask for removal, but there are no guarantees. Just do it yourself - it's gonna be cheaper.

I highly doubt it, I think we are giving google to much power/credit. There's only a few things google can do without TOTALLY screwing things up. They already feel the pressure with the whole penguin update (even though they refuse to admit this publicly.) But they know that they cannot totally combat blackhat without effecting white hat, without pissing more people off.

Like the age old saying, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Im sure google dose not want that, at least on the search engine side of things. So they are just as hesitant as we are.

It took a while to get back my position for some of my campaigns, but most of them are close to their initial positions before penguin. I think they did a re-shake on their algo, some other competitor sites that were gone are also back up.

What did you change to your site to get it back up the listings?

I'm wondering whether I should change any webpage on my site that shows up in Copyscape.

Even though it was me that put the content on originally, I've noticed quite a few sites have copied my pages. Thinking if I were to change all these, whether it would help?

Now, the really GOOD news for some is that as "other" sites get reduced due to their practices (?) YOUR site will show as a move up - Nothing that you or your website did better, just that others ahead of you were dropped.

Woo-Hoo! Get some of that crap above me out of the way!

What I have said isn't 100% true for sure. But please try to contribute, and add your opinion what is the main cause. I do not care if i am right or wrong, i want to know what cause the google penalty.

This post is over 4 years old and your reply doesn't even make sense. Pretty transparent post count building CyberCaptain.
