I am about to test out the basic CL spam method with some of the emails I've collected and I just noticed that all of the free product offers on my affiliate network strictly forbid classified traffic. I'm wondering how the networks will be able to tell that my traffic is coming from people I am emailing on CL, and what, if anything I can do to avoid the risk of being banned.

Crazy as this may sound you could not violate their TOS and you'll not get banned.

Not exactly what I was looking for, but that might be the best advice. Maybe I should switch to a different Affiliate network that doesn't expressly prohibit classified traffic. Anyone know of an affiliate network that doesn't ban for classified traffic?

All it takes is a competitor to get your email and report it to your network. Not to mention its pretty easy to see where a link is coming from for anyone who knows a little about computers.
I could understand them knowing where I was referring from if it was straight from CL to the Affiliate link but I don't get how they would know when referred from an email which is allowed as long as the email isn't generated from a classified site (which it is, but how would they know that either.)

By periodically contacting the leads for one.
I was a bit if a wise guy with my initial answer and I apologize for that but I own a CPA network and one of my affiliates was doing the CL mailing thing; he got caught and we lost a real nice advertiser.
It was a lose/lose.
Okay that makes sense, it's all good. I did think about the CPA network contacting leads, but I wasn't sure if that's something that they would do or not. Thanks for clearing that up for me I'll have to look around for more suitable offers.

I've been doing SEO for awhile , and with my new partnership, we will be doing some affiliate marketing. So please excuse the noob question, but why are classified listings banned from certain networks? Because of the bad stigma? Just wondering.

Make a php page that promotes the offer but when passed a secret get variable redirects to your affiliate link. If you test it then it should look legit if the variable is stripped. My 2 blackhat cents
