This is a pretty simple strategy to get indexed right away. My blogs that have been around for a couple of years and get frequent updates get new pages indexed within 10 - 15 seconds (literally).

Even my new blogs get their pages indexed within 20 - 30 minutes usually without even lifting a finger and creating a backlink though.

All you need to do is login to your Wordpress backoffice and click on:

Settings >> Writing

Then scroll down until you see "Update Services"

Then copy this list of ping sites below and paste them into the box on your wordpress and click save changes.

Dude, Don't reinvent the wheel. 2-3 fast pinging services are more than enough. These long lists are useless as they slow down the pining process. Do you realize how many of these links are actually dead?

Don't hate, appreciate! :)

Which are the best to use then if you don't need a big list ?

I always thought using the default pingomatic was all you needed?

Yes, just Ping-o-Matic as it updates other sources for you. Although I usually redirect my feeds to Feedburner. I think that also does some pinging.

I actually found a list the other day of over 200 services. I uploaded it and really havent seen a huge improvement over using a handful of sites

I'm not really hating but shouldn't we work on improving the quality of the posts on this forum? If I put shit in your plate will you appreciate it because it is free?

That's just my point without any offence to the OP at all. Nothing personal really but I just love this place I wish every post has a value.

What kind of advantage do you get from adding a bunch of dead ping sites in your blog's ping list? Open few of the of links in the list and you will know what I mean.

Posting the URL of my WP blog into a Blogger post (and deleting later) + Pingomatic seem to work fine for me, thanks for the idea with the list additions though :)

It's hating bud. My sites get indexed automatically within a 20 - 30 minutes on brand new blogs without building a link.

So what if half the ping sites are now offline. I don't bitch at people when they post an AMR list that I only get 5 new pr1+ sites on out of 15k.

The pings work well for me. If they don't for you, don't use em :)

I read your post about http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=34444 and thought it was complete rubbish but who am I to badmouth your post when you are just trying to be helpful?

I know for a fact you can do a lot to screw over a competitors website and anyone who believes anything Google says is crazy in my opinion. That being said, only a complete jackass would attack their competitors website. We are talking about peoples livelihoods so great if people thing they can't hurt their competition.

Whether you are right or wrong isn't the point and shouldn't matter though. Either way it wouldn't hurt anyone to think that and if it's not hurting someone, let it be.

I don't have a lockdown on google knowledge but I do pretty damn well for myself in one of the most competitive niches there is so if I do something that seems to be a benefit I share.

It won't be for everyone and sometimes I may even call it wrong. The pings still work for me.

You are not getting my point at all. I'm not saying pining is not effective (Heck I own Lindexed.com) but just saying the list you shared is dead/useless because ALL of the sites are down! Did you every try to open them in your browser or just blindly pasting them in your WP then convincing yourself that they are doing magic? Test them now please before replying to me and tell me how many are working.

I get what you are saying man. And there are only about 16 working ones. I didn't think I needed to scrub the list because most people here already know about the ping section in wordpress and it doesn't hurt anything if you have a dead site sitting in your ping box.

It was meant more to bring awareness to that part of wordpress for people who were unaware it exists.

BTW: I know you own lindexed.com and I think it's a great service.
