Many have always wondered, what would happen if I blasted x number of back links to a site. Here's a case study where I take it to an extreme and record the results as the occur.

I was wondering if blasting 5 million back links to an Authority PR4 website would actually help rankings (without doing anything else).

I'm sure some of you guys would like to know as well.

Well, why not test it out. I'm going to provide my data in the form of a case study. Feel free to follow :)

Details:
  • The site is 4 years old, many layers and inner pages (it has a small forum).
  • The site has 59 quality (pr 3+) backlinks that show up when searching link:website.com.
  • The website has several pr 4 inner pages and many pr 3 inner pages.
  • Blasts are only sent to the main page.
  • Blasts are single keyword and single url
  • Keyword has been optimized on page. (in <title> and <h1> tags)
  • Only using scrapebox!

Regular Log:

2/22/2012
1 Million blasts sent
Current PR: 4
Current Keyword Rank: 52
Google backlinks (link:website.com): 59

I'm sure Ill get a ton of replies about how wasteful or dumb this idea is. Rest assured, I'm fine with blasting this website, and I'm confident in the authority i've built from creating various addons for WP, Joomla, etc. So there's a fair number of follow links back to my site as well as high PR links.
As far getting 5million backlinks, ill do my best to blast more than that amount to account for deleted accounts, etc.

Otherwise, sit back and relax as I let scrapebox pay for itself :P
Hope this data may prove helpful to others

Feel free to thank to show your support of taking risks. :)

Your brave, I don't think I'd risk the strategy on a site I really cared about, but I'm not saying it won't work --subscribed:)

Dang and I thought blasting 100K was hardcore. Subscribed!

That's a lot of volume all at once. Be careful even with a PR4 aged domain, I know SB is risky for new domains but still... 5,000,000 ~immediate new backlinks will definitely raise Google's suspicions.

Look good. Subscribed to see the result.

PS. I used to SB blast a 14 year old domain with 500K links without getting slap. Good luck.

you're right, but the site hasn't been used much and I don't have the time to really work on it the way i should.

So i think this will prove a lesson for better or for worse.

Good luck, young foolish one.

You will most likely trigger some kind of alert to cause google to review your site manually, Dunno.

If you are only using scrapebox, then 70+% of the links will have to be from the same domain, you will have no way of keeping track how many backlinks you have actually made, Google will not index all the links at once anyways, many of the links will already been deleted and deindexed before you get even 1/10th of the way through the test.

Not sure what else I can say here. I am sure it will be "interesting" to see the results anyways, but I doubt you will get anywhere close to even 500k live links at any given time, and those will not all be indexed, and that includes spamming the same domains over and over. I have hit scrapebox as hard as I possibly could for 3 weeks non-stop 24/7 and only got up to 132,000 backlinks indexed by Google, and I simply ran out of domains to blast to.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm sure many links will be deleted, removed, etc., but I'm going to try to blast more than necessary. I'll provide an update and hopefully check links on a spare server.

We'll I'm pretty confident in the authority the site has. (many many sites link into the site because we created several scripts in the past with links ******** links back to us).

it would be cool to see that you could actually get 5 mil links using scrapebox. I would strongly advice in using inner pages as well and also use a large aray of anchors. Just my 2 cents :)

I'm wondering why not vary keywords and blasting inner pages as well?

The nature of my site, already has a ton of backlinks pointing to one page, the index page. So this site, hopefully, will have more success blasting just the homepage.

Other than that, I just want to see how this works out. If at some point I manage to pull off SERP 1-3, ill know how many back links it took ;)

now if this works good, I will defiantly be purchasing SB.

Been putting it off for some reason

It should not come out good as there is only one keyword and one page, however even if it comes out good it won't just bump up tomorrow - maybe 2 years or so.
