[Case Study] Blast 5 Million Backlinks to a PR4 Authority Site

Always wondered that I will definitely do it "SOMEDAY". But didn't get the encouragement needed :D

Looking forward to the results.

Wow... that's an interesting test... can't wait to see the results. I'm betting it won't have too much of a "negative" effect. It "may" dance for a bit, but my bet is that it will remain neutral or move up in the rankings.

I think you are going to be fairly well insulated with 4 year old domain... and most of the links will probably be immediately devalued/ignored.

Then again, I could be totally wrong... that's why you're doing the test!

Good luck!

why you think this would help ? you are blasting to 5000 uniq domains (or perhaps 10k or 50k uniq, but only like 5k will stick in best scenario)....you are doing same thing as many many many other people are doing (but your raw to uniq ratio is just a lot bigger, you are blasting in same cases to 1000 pages on same urls)

you think google didnt dig that many people are blasting to same 5000 blogs ? cmon :) google is complex so asuming it doesnt dig such thing is unrealistic

i would rather try to find small amounts of unspammed domains

I'll whip your ass, if you did that to my client :)
Competition spams site with xRumer

Joke, it's not you ;)

But I don't like this tactic at all, because what if your own site would be hit by this awfull tactic?

Rather, concentrate on your own SEO.

I think plenty of people have wondered what might happen if they blasted X number of backlinks.

I'm just taking this to an extreme, but recording the results as they reach this extreme. Not going to expect this to help nor am I expecting the site to tank.

Hehe I would like to see 5 million backlinks done manually.
I wonder how much money it would take to outsource that :D

At $0.01 (one cent) per backlink, it would cost you $50,000.

Or you can pay 100 bucks for scrapebox and $100 on proxies.

No guts, no glory.

Damn straight! In my opinion your site is going to get temporarily sandboxed or penalized and then come back stronger than ever! Subscribed.

Well depends how he does the 5mil backlinks, if all at once, i can bet it will be sandobxed, if start from 10k and increase the flow per day, i think he'll be safe. It's very important to have a nice flow, not instantly and i suggest you do that.

Great insight.
As you can see, I'll be doing it in increments. This also provides more data as to how many backlinks is a healthy number.

few months ago, i've done something similar, and my site got penalized. let's see what your's will do :)

Rather, concentrate on your own SEO.

You need to build your own SEO campaign. Basically, outweigh the bad with neutral/positive linking... I have followed for a long time about the effects of negative linking to competitors, from what I can see.. It depends 100% on the strength of your existing campaign.

If you built 100,000 shady links to Wikipedia or Facebook, it would not effect anything. Because they have a very strong SEO campaign already.

However, you can easily tank Fred's Plumbing Service with minimal effort and basically by doing what the OP is doing here... Simply letting loose the sketchiest features of our existing tools with a little negative twist to them.

Think if I blasted your site with XRumer using porn/casino/pharma terms and you had very little SEO in place.. I will bump you with ease. However, if you had a pretty good SEO campaign already, it would be difficult for me to do that.... Now.... 5,000,000 links is another story. lol, that's like chemical warfare.

Your case should be fine, tho, just increase the GOOD SEO to the effected pages and Google will begin putting the puzzle back together of where your site should place.

My experience. I blaster a PR 0 site with over 2 million links of which nearly a 75K are reported in google webmaster tools and it did not get sandboxed. But I hit internal pages and I have A LOT of internal pages.
Traffic moved, but not enough to make it worthwhile.
PR went up to 2 from 0.
This site does not have a single white hat or even gray hat link. I am testing only the dark side of the force with it ;)

Very nice. I'm sure many have tested PR 0 sites and some ranked up while others were sandboxed. This will be a slightly different test for those people out there too hesitant to risk a pr 4 authority site.
