Oh, I don't post the sale items. I post popular items I think will be repinned and link it to the sales page LOL.

Although I did pin some of the dresses on the sales page too. But usually I just post things I hope to be repinned a lot, then hope a few people who click through buy something. That's why I like Amazon for this, very poor traffic and there is a wide selection of items the person could buy.
Try some things in the kitchen section too. Things women love-pizza stone, french bread pan, smoothie makers are hot right now, anything having to do with cupcakes, soft serve ice cream machine, items for canning, yogurt makers are also hot right now.

It seems that the Pin is only as good as the time you push it out.. I've been re-pinning the same image + text + url for the past hour and getting alot better results than simply pinning it once and moving on...

Oh, I should say I wasn't doing it exactly that way.. before I was trying to target, picture -> niche. Yesterday was more any picture -> sales page. I'll look in to that.

Thinking of trying the "trick" to make items on sale in the gift section too.

Are you repinning your own pictures, you mean? Or creating new pins with the same pictures?

Well what I'm doing it just deleting my old ones and recreating the exact same one again, this puts me back to the top of the category I choose and hte gifts section.

It appears the people who re-pinned it continue to display it even after you delete it!

So delete + recreate + delete + recreate = more larger audience.

Thanks!

Any testing on whether just repinning your own item brings it back to the top? Or need to do the delete method?

Also.. so if you pin an item as a gift, it also shows up in the "normal" section? I was wondering if the audience would be smaller on pinned gifts.

My problem is that more than half of UVs are from smartphone and my fricking site does not even display on mobile phones!

Anyone can help?

Send them to a merchant's site directly, that can handle smart phones.

Thanks!

I delete my business pics and pin again. After two days the pics that are on the board are of no use to me. No one repins after two days. Repinning is all I'm after (and followers to my boards) because I want as many people as possible to see my products. Think of it in the way of twitter that no one will probably retweet your tweet that is two days old.

Yeah, that I understand. My question is, if I repin one of my pins with the repin button on the image on Pinterest, does it go back to the top and others see it again?

That's be quicker and easier, LOL.

I've tested both ways and the answer is yes, it seems to be as though you never posted it before and go straight to the top!

Ok, question guys...

How you monetize this?

Amazon rejected me 2 times because my new blog on blogger is empty and they know there is now views.

You have to make the Pinterest picture go to the product. One of the things that makes Pinterest so successful is that women love other women's opinions on things to buy. A woman could be in a store and ask a total stranger who is female if she likes the color or if the dress makes her look fat. She knows that another woman will tell her what they think in an honest manner. Your followers are going to start getting mad if they see that the picture doesn't go to what it's supposed to go to, and they will unfollow your boards. The dress should go to the dress. A picture of curtains should go to where to buy the curtains or how to make them. That's why the suggestion in the first post to throw pictures on a blog is ridiculous. The pictures are not going to the instructions. A picture of a cake should go to the recipe. Hardly anyone is going to click on adsense or anything else if that cake doesn't go to a recipe. If someone wants to see a picture of a cake, they could go to google images. That's not what Pinterest is. Pinterest should stay white hat or it won't bring in good money.

Can't wait to see the traffic on my Amazon portal tomorrow. Has anyone got any live stats from their websites?

If you repin your own pin, the picture is on your board twice.

If you repin your own pin, the picture is on your board twice.

That is correct... All the tests I've done though have shown that dosn't matter one bit so I'm repinning the same one every 5mins then deleteing any that are 1 hour old.

Thus I keep my 1 item at the top every 5mins.

For everyone wondering why stats are different at different times of days or on different days, why do you think that is?

Sunday afternoons during football seasons see a crazy amount of traffic. Weekdays during the day see a crazy amount of traffic. Why do you think this is? Look at who the typical user of Pinterest is. 97% of users are female and the vast majority of them are located in the US. You are going to see the highest amount of traffic during times when these ladies have nothing to do.

Football season on Sunday - Most males are watching football all day long, so what are females left to do? Jump on Pinterest.

Weekdays - Stay at home moms are alone, with their kids at school and their husbands at work, they once again are left to fill time with Pinterest and other activities.

This is why traffic is going to fluctuate.

Also for everyone PMing me for invites, there is a way to get a free invite in the first post.

Anyone PMing me advice, I am out of town with limited internet until Thursday, so please do not expect a quick reply.
