I have hundreds of shortened links...no issue!
It doesn't have anything to do with whether or not the links are shortened. Someone on Pinterest is going to remember the picture. Saving hundreds of pictures and putting them on your blog is an accident waiting to happen. Someone is going to report you. Use embed. If anyone gets in trouble, it will be Pinterest and not you. When you take 100 pictures from Pinterest, put them on your blog, and put them back on Pinterest, you are bound to be caught. These are the most popular pictures on Pinterest, sometimes being repinned hundreds of times. Do you know how many people saw the picture? If they see it a second time on your board, click on it, and are taken to your blog, they know that it's not where the picture originated.
If you're going to use Pinterest for affiliate commissions, make the picture either go directly to the product at the store or to your blog where that goes to the product at the store.
