Has anyone ever been able to rank a website using only no-follow links. This could be from anywhere like blog commenting using scrapebox for example. But remember only no-follow links, and be sure that there weren't any do-follow links mixed in accidently.

It's impossible to rank with ONLY no-follow in Google or Bing

You could have success with yahoo tho :)

people say that they'd had success but i'm extremely skeptical

I have never heard of someone ranking a site with no-follow. I would like to see some proof in this.

And google searches at that :)

Even if no follow links did not rank your website in the search engines, many NoFollow websites have a huge amount of traffic. For example, many article directories, large blogs, and popular forums have a ton of traffic.

Yes, it is certainly possible and I have done it, but that isn't necessarily due to the no-follow links being entirely responsible for the rank. What you guys need to understand about Google is that Google doesn't just look at your website and go "Oooh, you have great content, great bounce rate, great user interaction, but only no-follow links, that isn't going to work for us. Denied." If google knows about your site, you can get ranked.

Yes I can confirm this also ! It is possible !

I have a brand new domain and today I've seen my ranks skyrocket with APE's blasting service :) in combination (I think) with ExtraWinner's Off-Site SEO Service.

Here you have a screenshot from this morning.

When you say rank. do you mean PR or SERP.
I dont know about PR, but it is possible in SERPS.

I usually start my linkbuilding on new sites with no follow.wiki links

and have even had keywords as high as position 3 on google, with no other links at all

It really depends on the competition. If there's no competition, no follow links = better than no links

No follow is no follow for a reason.

Why do you think google told wiki to no follow their links?

Because of spammers.

Do follow is where the ranking is.

But to appear natural you need only a few no follow. But that doesnt mean no follow are good seo on their own, because they are not.

I had a do follow PR5 BBC.co.uk web link - boosted my website very well

I had a PR5 wiki link - did nothing.

Too many seo's talk about no follow being "a good link" but really, they aren't worth the effort...........................................

__ I even had a no follow PR8 linkhome page link...

Did nothing.....

Far from impossible, but pretty useless to even think about it.

The likelihood of anything worth ranking not to have follow links is about one in a zillion.

No follow can pass page rank, it has been proven many times by many people. But more importantly, no follow links build a more natural profile and that is as important as passing page rank.

I would say - yes :)

We all know that n0f0llow links DO count as well - just with much less value.

But there is another thing - N0f0llow links is mostly a sign of heavily moderated blog... do simple 2+2 and you will see that you get votes from domains with higher authority and sweet PR (for example, blog of Matt Cutts).

Formula: very well optimized site + decent domain + significant amount of high PR n0f0ll0w b-links + decent visibility in most popular social websites = good rankings in medium competition

:)

Most people have no clue what NoFollow really means

NoFollow means that Google will NOT follow the link to crawl to the next website BUT it WILL pass the PR linkjuice.

Unfortunatly PR on itself won't rank. Little case study that I performed right before the PR update from Google last week is putting a ******** link from my Youtube channel, which is PR6, to some huge ass thin affiliate site of mine, that is now PR5 and recieving 0 visitors a day.

Proof of fact: Another site of mine only has wiki backlinks that are all nofollow and after the site update it turned from PR0 to PR3

Okay all this has nothing to do with nofollow links ranking or not but just wanted to make some things clear.

I think it will be a waste of time to try it, the results is obvious... I mix no-follow backlinks to make it look more natural to google's bot though...
