Ranking website with only no-follow links

You are confusing cause and effect. Your increase in rank would most likely be the no follows being in your profile making it look natural, not pasing physical PR.

I'm not confusing anything, but you said it, so it must be true.

Two years ago I used exclusively no follow links from wikipedia to rank inner page of the website, and it worked.
But website had a PR4 and lots of links to homepage. NoFollow was used only on inner page.

I tried the same thing just two months ago and cannot say that I had same success

Well that's a void test because your inner pages will be passing real juice to each other from the do follows.

Get a high PR do follow link and watch your positive move in the serps.

Get a high pr no follow and watch nothing happen.

I had a pr8 linking to a nothing competition, it might as well have been a pr10 link that's how over optimising getting a pr8 link was. It did fuck all.

People confuse the cause and effect, yes no follow can help rank but it does not pass Page Rank because this is artificial ranking from bought links not merit based links.
