Spoonfed method for noobs-$0-tons of pics

^^ Everytime I post a photo, I link to a different product that relates best to the photo. I don't always link to the same product. Therefore I have to use bit.ly to cloak the links.

I think your method only works for 1 product link if I understand it correctly?

To everyone using this method:
It does work. Someone just bought a TV off Amazon with my affiliate link from Tumblr.

So hang in there! lol

Notes from the field:
---------------

1)Tumblr is mostly teens so you want to post stuff during times when they are most active. This means 2am, 3:30ishpm and 7pm (roughly) Basically don't post stuff around noon because the numbers will work against you.

2)The idea of redirect from your domain on Tumblr is GOLDEN. People don't click bitlys and adflys usually. They Definitely click the link when they see it's clearly coming from your page though. So do that.

3)Try to have a lot of redirects so you aren't just hammering on 1 product alone. You want repeat clickers. If they click twice and see it takes them to the same dumb t-shirt on Amazon, you can rest assured they won't ever click your links again.

4) Get a targeted group of followers. AKA, choose a niche. Don't post cameras then post animal gifs. Stick with one thing. That's what makes people want to follow you, so you can be their one-stop-shop for all their vintage bottle cap photo needs. (not my niche just an example)

Good luck!

Yeah i think i may start using multiple products, however i have also started linking to listmania lists which contain lists of products made by users for specific purposes which i feel might help. And you still can re-direct from the page on your tumblr, just create another page for the re-direct, you don't even have to have it display on the tumblr page but it will still redirect people if they click the link.

The followers i'm getting now are incredibly targeted so i'm going to use that to my advantage, predominantly female as well so i'm taking that into account also. I think the one thing i need to change is the product, i need to diversify so i find lots of products and then link if i can a different one for each photo. Takes longer but it might still work. In fact an idea for that would be this.

Set up 8 (i say 8 because thats how many posts i make per day) page on your tumblr to act as re-directs.

Use one re-direct for each post that day, then the next day, instead of making more pages, just change the re-direct address on the pages you have already, this will also change the link in all the previous reblogs so any new ones on older posts will go to newer links.

:D:D:D I'm so happy for you! I'd love to see the commission you made off that. :)

Half the fun of this method is seeing the oddball stuff people buy. They'll click on a baby photo and buy a male g-string.

Also, I've noticed that this method is already on other BH forums, pics and all. I love that no one bothered to remove the "I <3 Blackhatworld, Blackhatworld is the greatest!" :D

Yes I like that method a lot.
But hear me out on this: The pages aren't that difficult to create themselves. So what I do is get all my affiliate links crunched by goo.gl then make all the pages at the same time. Just have notepad up and (in your case) 8 different links and paste them into the redirect page.

There might be a caveat here, and that is people might actually click a goo.gl link if it's in the Caption or click-thru because that's a household link shortner and Joe Blow will recognize it isn't spam. (heh incorrectly of course)

I'll try it out and report back. If it worked, it would be less work.

Ha i totally agree, i'm kinda looking forward to seeing the weird stuff people buy

And well at least BHW is getting some PR out of it ;)

Haha thank you, OP! Wouldn't have happened without your great thread.

It wasn't too much, just $24. On a related note: Amazon has great deals on 25in TVs! Too great in fact.
:D

Here is a little update from me.

My numbers have been petering out the last couple of days and I wanted to figure out why. Started 16, then 18, then like 2, 3, and 5.

I assume the first two days were the initial high of interest (added with probably 2-3 friends testing it for me). Today I finally picked up the traffic to 9-10 clicks due in large part to methods employed from sharing ideas here in the thread. I re-sized the images to get a few clicks and I also re-directed. Now I am going to take some more advice and offer a bunch of different things and just create a bunch of different re-direct pages.

I'm lucky that my 44 clicks total have yielded a commission already. Granted it was $1.49, but if that didn't come on the second day I would have had a hard time believing. Now I know it is possible and so I don't mind working without more commission. The funniest thing was that the product bought was a "Smart Planet Piano Mat" (look it up, I can't post links). It can't get anymore random than that..

With my new methods in mind, I have started in a niche I think will be easier to pursue. It's for the teenage male crowd and has a little twist to it. Hopefully I'll get some follows and hopefully I'll also get some more active clickers. I think targeting teen - adult males (adult *ahem*) is a good idea as they are more likely to be buying on Amazon.

As that is a new blog I have not been able to add a redirect page. I'm not sure whether I have to wait a while before I am allowed to, but it is kind of annoying. Keep in mind I like to separate my blogs completely so it is under a different email address, not even the same account. :o If it doesn't change within a day or two, I'll go ahead without it, I guess..

I made sure photos were more available for that niche too. My first one is tougher... my second is easy. I have gotten already 90 photos or so for my niche so I figure it should last a while especially if I keep stocking up when I get the time. Like putting nuts away for the winter..

Trying this method with two Tumblr blogs for two days now. Im redirecting to cpa offers no luck yet, only three clicks.Im using Tumblrplug to get followers.Cant use Amazon :(

I didn't know you weren't allowed to make re-directs straight away, i didn't start using them til at least 10 days after i made the account so i guess there may be a slight waiting period to prevent excess spam from redirects.

I did a little digging and thought that the statistics below might be useful for anyone struggling to find a good niche.

- 42% of posts are photos
- Users are fairly evenly distributed by gender, with 51% male and 49% female.
- The majority of users are concentrated in the 18-34 year-old age group (36%) and among 35-49 year-olds (31%).
- 72% of Tumblr users are Caucasian, 12% Hispanic, 8% African American, and 6% Asian.

What can we deduce from these stats?

Well posting photos will work infinitely better than any other media.
The gender demographic surprised me since most of my followers are girls so it seems there isn't a right or wrong gender to target.
There is no surprise that 36% of the users are young because it's a social network technically. But 31% of users are older, this is the demographic that are more likely to open their wallets. (i say that based on my experiences as well as the case studies from my degree).
So if you can find a niche aimed at 30-40 year olds that has lots of pictures involved then you might well be on to a winner.

Just my two pence. :D

Something i just noticed that is incredibly important.

I started a second blog today as an offshoot of my first one. I was planning to start promoting it tonight using my first one and similar methods as i did before. So i got some content, just three photos and put them on it straight away so i can get it started. I tagged them relevantly and i just had a look at it now to check something and i've had 50 reblogs out of those three photos without even having a single follower. This just goes to show that tagging is massively important and can gain you vital exposure. So tag wisely and relevantly and consistently and you will gain instant traffic. :D

^^ I just implemented the redirect method on 3 new photos tonight. No luck still but we will see how this goes.

If you have implemented everything in this thread and are still no seeing a pick up in traffic to the blog and reblogs then i think the problem might be with the design or the actual niche you choose, if not a lot of people are reblogging stuff in that niche you are going to struggle to find success.

well, i tried it too, but it doesn't goes on so good.. 2 days so far 0.009$... :S
I want to try my luck with CPA like amazon, but I can't find my State at the register page.

Firstly you've been doing it two days, need to give it time to build up, secondly i've no idea how well this works with CPA but i think you are more likely to get banned for spamming by using CPA. Just my two pence

the method now is to upload alot of images with a adfly url and each time someone click on the image, he got moved to the adfly site i shorted.

the CPA method is the same, just putting a CPA url instead of the adfly...

the method with adfly is illegal too no? tumbrl can banned for it?

Tbh i wouldn't advise using Adfly or CPA because they will both look spammy, no one is going to click on a link to an Adfly or if they do they are unlikely to stay on the page once they realise. The point about using amazon with a re-direct is that it looks very legitimate and thats what drastically improves the CTR. However as i said i've not used CPA before i can't really provide an insight on it. Perhaps someone who has tried this with CPA might be able to help.

started on the 26th.
Clicks: 825

Conversion: 0.00%

my pictures are relatively popular, but no one wants to buy anything from amazon... maybe the pictures are targeting the wrong crowd...

Do you guys link a specific product on your photos? I have tried mostly linkmania searches...

so i don't understand what is the idea of all tumblr? i mean, how the method works? with adfly? amazon? cpa? ...?
