Ranking for 1,000 more keywords

I have a list of about 1,000 keywords that I want my site to rank for (already ranking for 40,000) by the end of March. What's the best way of obtaining positions for loads of keywords on an authority, white hat site?

You are ranking for 40k keywords, and you are asking this question?

My advice would be to add content targeting these 1,000 keywords. You say it's and authority, so minimal backlinking to these KW targeted pages should do the trick.

if the keywords are low competition the best will be to go with social bookmarks
if the keywords are low-medium, i think social bookmarks + blogposts

this is something that i know it works this days

That doesn't make any sense. If you have a list of KW's, all you have to do is get some dope SEO guy. Target the pages that mention the keyword at least once.

What I meant was that I've noticed in Analytics how many keywords the entire site has ranked for over the last month, which is quite a few. I want to be able to increase this number by 1,000 (probably quarterly)

The keywords would all be longtail, at least 5 words in the actual phrase so maybe not hard to rank for at all. s bookmarking seems the way forward, but I tried bookmarking demon before and had no success with it.

So if I have this site with almost a million page, half of them dynamic and I want to continue to increase the keywords that this site ranks for, where do I start? Sorry to sound a bit thick, but I want to get your suggestions. Thanks again.

Make use of onlywire... I know for sure that they have a wordpress plugin that submits every new post you publish to all connected SB accounts.
Probably have the ability to automate this in a similar way for non wordpress sites as well...
