seriously now? what kind of clown are you dude?
Keep it professional. If you have something constructive to say.... then say it. There is no room for insults in this discussion.

You own a production company, work for mtv, are content producer yourself, are pro sopa/pipa

I work in the entertainment industry. SOPA helps me get money from my hard work. You expect me to be against it??

AND YOU CONFESS TO DOWNLOADING COPYRIGHTED EBOOKS FROM BHW AND THE INTERNET IN GENERAL?

Go read what i posted... I said I pay for them.

But being judgemental about other people doing the same with YOUR OWN work and say for all of us/them jail is practically in our doorsteps...

If people that use my content would pay for it, it would make me very happy. But they don't. And if the threat of jail is what is going to stop them.... then let's throw jail in the equation.

Boy oh boy, you are a hippocrite

Keep this on a professional basis.
I can cuz like a drunken sailor in more than one language but we are civilized people and do not need to get to that point.

So let's keep this strictly professional, go ahead and attack my post but do not come at me personally.

only because something is illegal in the USA, doesn't mean it is in another country, and the friggin USA has NO RIGHT bouncing into other countries and arrest people to extradite them for trial to US soil. That is what the european court is for or any other court for that matter. (and no that doesnt mean I like megavideo or think they are in the right, it just means the usa should step back) You guys are way too much in your "it is illegal in theusa" mentality... hello? there are other countries in this world too...

Countries are like neighbors.....
go ahead and steal something from your neighbor...
put it in front of your yard...
and when he comes and bitches you out..
Convince him that this is your property...
He has no right to it, and he should mind his own business...
Good luck with that shit.... and you will be lucky if he does not punch the crap out of you and take his property back.

but if you still insist.... then first

Stop viewing US content
Stop copying US content
Stop sharing US content
Stop stealing US content
Stop using anything US.....

Watch and use shitty azz 3rd world content.
Use other nations software crap.
Watch crappy movies made in other countries.

Leave the USA alone... and the USA will leave you alone.

Steal from the USA.... and USA will come break down your door with guns.

Code:
http://torrentfreak.com/uploaded-to-blocks-us-visitors-120121/
Uploaded.to, one of the most popular file-hosting sites in the Internet, has closed its doors to US visitors.

The move is most likely a response to the FBI crackdown on MegaUpload two days ago.

US visitors of Uploaded.to currently get the following message.

"Not Available: Our service is currently unavailable in your country. Sorry about that."

The site has yet to release an official statement on the "block." Whether it's permanent, and the alleged relation to the MegaUpload raids and arrests is unknown at this point.

Uploaded.to's decision is just one of the many changes the major cyberlockers have made during the past days. More on that later.

So the internet starts to isolate itself from the US... That's not a good thing.

Go read what i posted... I said I pay for them.

You said you only pay for the good ones. Ever considered the fact that the shit you produce is just so low-quality garbage that people are not bothered paying for it? So people justify downloading it for free just like you do with the WSOs.

I want to ask you 2 questions
Did you ever used any copyrighted content such as listening musics, watching movies ,using softwares , playing games. I am asking before you started working at production company before you were making money.

Secondly are you making money right now ?

You are asking me if I have ever ever ever used pirated content.
The answer is yes. I was a kid once too. Thinking that producers make too much money anyways. Thinking that it hurts no one... because after all it is a victimless crime.

But I am not this greedy monger... wanting all the money from my content.
I was and still do pro photography....not as much but still do it.
I see my images on websites all the time.... without a license.
Most are in the US. I could shut them down.... easily.

Do I go after them.... of course not. I am not worried about the casual user.
Most people do not even know that you need to license images and video to use on your website.
They think that if it is for personal use...then its okay.... hahaha

But i do not have a problem with those people.

I am worried about the guy that has 10 servers running 24/7 selling my content.
That is the guy I need to stop.... but they are in russia. At least his servers are.
So I am helpless.
SOPA gives me some hope. So of course I back them up.

Do I make money from the content right now??

It depends on the project.
Production is expensive.
You have to pay models, actors, photography, videography, editors,
insurance, studio rental, exotic car rentals , post processing, lighting, etc etc.
For a good solid production... it can go over 200k.
If you license the content at 10k you have to sell 20 licenses to break even.
If you lower the price... you might end up selling 30 licenses.
The more licenses you sell ... the less the content is worth.
Networks want exclusive but they do not want to pay for it.
Content is time sensitive too.
They always want new stuff.

some times..... we lose money.
but the guys pirating, always make money.
They have no expenses other than server costs.... and that is nothing.

You said you only pay for the good ones. Ever considered the fact that the shit you produce is just so low-quality garbage that people are not bothered paying for it? So people justify downloading it for free just like you do with the WSOs.

My shit runs on the big networks bro... it is of the highest broadcast quality content you can get.

These people do not download it for free.
They pay the pirated site good money to get the content.

The pirated site looks very professional, when I contact the buyers--- they all thought they were buying legitimate content.

If the buyer is from the US.... they will normally pay us the difference or remove the content.
But most buyers are from foreign countries.... those are convinced they bought it legit.
and they will not take it down.....
and there is nothing I can do.

You see my problem.

Of course the internet will start to isolate itself from the US, if US think they are the worlds police then the world will simply shut them out.

Hey USA, have fun with your eCommerce...with the way things are going your government is going to destroy it!

USA is the market to sell at.

USA traffic is what converts.... USA traffic is what buys products.

Granted other countries do have buying power but USA traffic has massive buying power.

If the world isolates the US.... then it is better for US.
We keep all of our dollars right here in the good ol USA.

You see my problem.

I suppose you have contacted their payment networks, their hosting providers and the local authorities?

Go read what i posted... I said I pay for them.
You said you pay for them if they happen to be good.
Wich is exactly what filesharers should do if they downloaded some of the content your company put out...

Your logic: Its ok for WSO's, but not for your content.

We have tried contacting them... emailing them.. writing them..

but some do not see anything wrong with that.

It is just like they do not give a fuk.

Check this out.

One time they told me....
can they buy this content in this country??
I said "no"
U content is for the US only...not for export.

Then they said... well how can they steal it if they cannot buy it.

hahhahahahaha

Guys it's quite obvious now that Virus1 is trolling, he seems to think the US is the most powerful and best country in the world and has the very best traffic and all the rest of it. You will actually find it's more-so the vast amount of traffic to be had from America then the quality, it's only common sense that a richer country has higher converting traffic...it's because they have money to spend.

UK Traffic cost and quality is on par with America, it is just that America has more traffic to be had.

You think if websites block US citizens it is better for the US?
As usual you're spouting bullshit, typical from a guy like you.
I'm done replying to you, consider this my last.
You're such an obvious troll I do not even know why I fed you as much as I have.

You said you pay for them if they happen to be good.

Your logic: Its ok for WSO's, but not for your content.

There is no double standard.
You cannot compare a WSO to my content.
WSO hide stuff.... they hide information until you buy it.

I do not have a money back guarantee like the WSOs.
I do not need one.
You get to see the whole content before you buy it.
So there are no surprises.

If they download it from a pirate site and they think that my hard work is crap.....
and they delete it .... I am fine with that.
In fact... I will send them copies of it if they want.
That is how it is done in the entertainment industry.
They have to see the whole work before they buy.

I have a problem, when I see my content being aired.
On a Television network. Then you go to their site... and they have clips of it.

How can they say it is shitty content when they are airing it to 100,000s of people?

How can they say they deleted it when they are using it in plain site.

And I will repeat myself, these people DO NOT download the content for free.... they pay the pirated site good money for it.
They think they are buying it from a legitimate source.

There is no double standard.

Bro, I never asked you to respond to my posts.

In fact.... this thread had gone from megaupload being shutdown to my problem with piracy.

I would appreciate it if we brought it back to the megaupload discussion.

My apologies to everyone if you think I have been trolling.

My problem with piracy is real...and it affects my bottom line.

I am sorry that I answered members questions about this problem i have and side tracked the thread.

I am done with this thread.

Thanks and have a nice day.

Sigh...how did I know that either you or Virus1 would respond with such a comment whereby you pull a figure out of your ass and use your own personal guesses as facts.

48 hours of video footage is uploaded to youtube PER MINUTE, that is a matter of fact, want to know how much that is PER DAY?
Here is the math for you -
48 hours * 60 = 1 hour = 2880 hours
2880 hours = 120 days.
So for each HOUR there is 120 days worth of footage being uploaded.
That means every :
24 hours = 2880 days.
So for each day of youtube...2880 days worth of footage is uploaded.

You think that 2700 workers (900 doing 8 hour shifts) will even come close to covering the 2880 days of footage being uploaded per day? If we even assume it takes them 30 seconds per video, to figure out if it contains copyright or not that is still no where near enough workers.

Also Virus1 saying that they have the technology to detect and remove the videos, are you kidding me? Of course they do and they ARE ALREADY USING IT, if you ever upload a video that contains copyrighted material you automatically get a notice from youtube and if the content provider does not block it worldwide / in countries then they allow you to use it without any penalties (the content provider...NOT YOUTUBE)..Then youtube also include a link of the song in your description to itunes to buy the song + name of the artist and song.

So yeah Virus1 they are already using the technology, now if you're claiming they have more advanced technology but are simply not using it, then where the fuck is your proof? You have none, as per usual you spout your opinions as facts...

I said that it could be as low as 2700 which I was wrong slightly it would be 2880 at minimum,at the most it would be around 8640. Which could bring the the costs to $20 million/year in wages if you outsource it to a country like Moldova.

8640 is if it took 1:1,but come on its not going to be nearly 1:1 for the vast majority of content that are uploaded to youtube. from 5:48pm to 5:49 I did one search which led me to more videos, and found 13 1/2 minutes of content that infringed copyrights. So it could be even lower then 2880 possibly.
