How can they fucking seize PayPal PVAs?
This is batshit crazy.
We all really need to read up on the law alot instead of panicking so much.
That ideas should freely spread from one to another over the globe, for the moral and mutual instruction of man, and improvement of his condition, seems to have been peculiarly and benevolently designed by nature, when she made them, like fire, expansible over all space, without lessening their density in any point, and like the air in which we breathe, move, and have our physical being, incapable of confinement or exclusive appropriation. Inventions then cannot, in nature, be a subject of property.

I'm quite aware of the laws surrounding copyrights/trademarks in the US. I find them draconian and seemingly their entire existence rests upon the idea that entrenching large mega corporations is better than free information and high competition.
We're one of the only countries in the world that think this way about it.

As others have mentioned, Kim Dotcom is a hardcore big dog computer criminal and fraudster who has tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars. They've been after that guy for a while. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Schmitz
What scares me is that they arrested him right here in here in NZ because the US asked them to! That's the bit that seems really fucked up to me.
Now that is blackhat! In 2001, Schmitz purchased $375,000 worth of shares of the nearly bankrupt company LetsBuyIt.com and subsequently announced his intention to invest EUR 50 million in the company. Unknown to others, Schmitz did not have the funds available to invest, although the announcement caused the share value of LetsBuyIt.com to jump by nearly 300%. Schmitz quickly sold the shares and profited $1.5 million as a result.
