Using Youtube to get Niche Site traffic?

I have been building niche sites for a while now and I have always gotten my traffic from search engines. I have heard of using youtube videos to drive traffic to your sites, but would it be worth it to make vidoes for micro niche sites?

I don't spend more than 3 hours making a single niche site and the youtube account creation + Email + creating videos may increase the time for a site by another 1-2 hours and then I would have to seo the videos also.

Does anyone use youtube to get their niche sites additional traffic?

I haven't yet, but I was thinking of doing so. I just got into YT with movies and have been getting good traffic so I was thinking of trying it with micro niche sites. Although my sites have nothing to do with videos so we'll see how it goes.

I use youtube to get 40% of my traffic for one of my affiliate sites, but this is a larger authority site and I have over 50 videos for the site.

It would be nice to hear from someone else who does this. Maybe small sites aren't worth the efforts of making the videos and everything. Youtube is definitely a great source of traffic for larger sites though

Exactly, I've tried it with an aquarium related website. Had around 15 pretty good videos on youtube. Did everything by the book, had an average of 1000 views per video, but very little traffic actually went my way.

I donno, maybe thing are different if you actually sell some products on a micro niche website and not just offering content.
