Can you guys alos list how much you pay for your service? :D

this is crap. it always depends which server you choose to test with. if you choose a server in the same country it can be very fast, if you choose a test between US and China it won't. For example I have close to 100mbps anywhere in my country, 60-90mbps with most of Europe but generally only about 5-40mbps with USA depending on peering and carrier. With others it is even worse (e.g. Japan, South America, Africa) not because of my ISP which obviously rocks, but because of the slow Internet carriers in those areas. Then again, I am in Romania which has 2nd best broadband internet in the entire world (after Korea) and best in Europe. All this on a $15 home plan. Pretty useless if I need to run scrapers and scrape US based servers, especially that i get a nasty delay on DNS resolving when doing parallel requests. Also the speed is optimized for large downloads by the ISP so works great to download a few big files, not so great to download many web pages at the same time.

Well, DUHHHHH
Of course servers that are thousands of miles away from you will be slower...

that's exactly why the closest server is set to run your test by default...if everybody uses the closest (which is by default), it will result comparable speeds

mine on the 1st page cost $50 per month on 5mb down & up..
but with free call on landline & iptv..

Can someone explain speedtest.net?
I always test and it's telling me I get 3mb/s when in fact when I download something from the internet, it's always at 500kb/sec?

I have 20Mbs Cable right now and am moving somewhere that only gets 6Mbs DSL. No cable connection available...
