WTF Is Life About ???

Life is about finding yourself.

But i already know where i am, right here. Well i know what you mean. I have 1 friend at the moment who i visit sometimes most often drinking there. I wonder how they even let me come over after the stuff i have said to them while drunk lol. Even though he rarely ask me over or to do anything , mostly when hes drunk. I think ill sell my cars and stuff i don't ever use and move to another city start training and producing music, living semi-simple. It will be easy with IM. I think for too long i have compensated the anxiety with buying useless stuff rather than concentrating things i really like, which though are hard to do alone.

Life is short and death is forever.

Live life your way and forget what everyone else thinks.
Don't let anyone tell you you're wrong, you're stupid, you're on the wrong path, or that you can't do something.
Concentrate on your daughter and let your positivity continue to shine through.

Onna Side Note: get money, fuck bitches and drink HENNESSEY TILL YOU CANT SEE!. !

lol jk just keep your head-up buddy xx

Lots of Love. (no homo)

It's quite simple - Life is about whatever you make it about. That's the funny thing - we search for this hidden meaning for life and for how w "should" live life but for me it looks very clear that we are given life and we are given the choice to do with it whatever we want.

Also, life is like the hair on your ass: short and full of shit :)

hey bro.. good question. What is life about? its basically what YOU want it to be. One bedroom, 10 bedrooms.. its up to you. I don't remember who said this and am not taking credit but it went along the lines that we're riding on a bullet train with our heads down. On the other side is another bullet train coming towards us at full speed and its eventually going to collide and we'll be done. So you gotta do what you love now(again don't try to setup a ice cream shop in the north pole unless you don't want any income) and live the way you want to

AND at the end when that train hits you can go smiling & laughing because you did the things you wanted and the way you wanted to do them.

Life is easy... It's about sadness, happiness, love, loss, hardship, fun, attachment, grief and much, much more.

You have all of these emotions and actions for a reason. Sadness will help you to feel happy; loss will teach you to love better, hardship will help you enjoy fun more, grief will help you to cherish your attachments. It's a crazy world, man.

But the end goal is all the same for everybody, a dirtnap. Wormfood. The great beyond, whatever you want to call it, death.

What you choose to do between now and then will either make you happy or a miserable fuck. Not only that, but your choices and actions can actually change how something makes you feel, if you choose to smoke crack, having a loving wife probably won't make you happy anymore. If you choose to donate to the needy, blowing $5,000 on coke probably won't make you happy anymore. It's a weird twisted life, and nothing is the same for anybody.

IMO, life is about acquiring as many of those positive emotions as you can. Helping others and being the most positive person you can. Gaining as many experiences as you can. As many skills as you can and being the most versatile human being that you can.

Then you get to take all of your acquired knowledge and bestow it onto another human being so that they can take that knowledge and figure this mess out for themselves, too. It's all an experiment on variables and end results, the variables are always the same, but the end result is always different.

Like when people say, "If I could go back and do it all over, I wouldn't change a thing." Except the chaos theory says that the end result would never be the same because even the most minor changes can completely screw everything up.

So whether there's a God or whether this is all by chance, it's a pretty fucking successful experiment because to this day, no 2 people have ever done the exact same things. Come to the exact same conclusion? Hundreds of thousands or millions of times, I'm sure. But there's so many different ways to come to that conclusion.. That's the beauty of life.

Mine is different from yours is different from hers is different from his is different from theirs.

Just be the best person you can all the time and eventually good things will come of it, probably. Or maybe not, you never know. Good things come to assholes, too. It's all about how you think you'll be able to get to your goal. Whatever that may be.

But the more experiences you have getting to that goal, the more fulfilled you'll be. For instance, who's happiest.. The 10 year old millionaire who was born a millionaire, has never experienced want, pain, fear, loss or grief; or the 50 year old millionaire who was homeless for 10 years before volunteering at a shelter which led to a part time job as a janitor where he met his wife, then lost his job and his wife died. Then got a new job, but lost his house. Then got a new house, but lost his car. Then got a new wife and a new car. Then invented the Ziplock bag and failed to market it to the first 100 investors before he finally found S.C. Johnson (a family company. :P) who paid him $10M?

I bet that man wouldn't sit around bitching because his Xbox games are too hard.

I agree with all of your post except the ending. I very much enjoy living in a small one bedroom apartment alone. It works better for me. I was married and did lose my wife due to the internet because I am addicted, but it was a mutual decision in the end. I have major social anxiety issues and I don't like dealing with the outside world on a regular basis.

I am very happy with my life right now. I am not rich, I basically have no friends and nobody to talk to on a regular basis. But I am happy. I love women more than anything in the world, so eventually I would like to find some women to date, but I don't think I will ever be able to settle down with 1 woman. It just isn't what I am made for. 5 years from now I want to be in India, 6 months later in China, 1 year later Japan etc. I need to be alone to be truly free.

A 1 bedroom apartment can seem like a luxury castle to someone off the streets.

Living alone sounds depressing to some people, but sounds like freedom to others.

I too have that social anxiety issue. I am trying hard to come over it.

The poets have answered the OP's question:

"...Life, like a dome of many-coloured glass,
Stains the white radiance of Eternity,
Until Death tramples it to fragments..."
--Shelley

"...Life is not as idle ore,
But iron dug from central gloom,
And heated hot with burning fears,
And dipt in baths of hissing tears,
And batter'd with the shocks of doom
To shape and use."
--Tennyson

"So live, that when thy summons comes to join
The innumerable caravan, that moves
To the pale realms of shade, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but sustain'd and sooth'd
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave,
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams."
-- William Bryant

A big thing with social anxiety for me anyway was just having NO routine at all and too much stimulation it was fucking up my peace, once it starts messing with your sleep everything gets fucked. So here's what I suggest wake up early, go to the gym for half an hour in the morning, cut the sugar then tell me you have anxiety. Also cut the internet down drastically, I turn it off by 8-9pm, TV too. THEN you'll know what relax is about.

Also OP, love is VERY addicting. The good feelings are just as much a problem as the bad feelings your going through so you need to get rid of both. Just approach a couple women until you get laid which you eventually will if you're out everyday and can handle doing that. Once you get laid consistently the pangs of love will have just about washed away, I don't know why this is. I guess we're just meant to do that anyway so when we are it's like the primitive part of the brain rewards us for it by not making us feel so shitty.

I want to thank all of you for your opinions in the this thread.

Today is the day that I needed to read this, I have issues everyone has issues .

" I am a control Freak"

Pick any subject and I will try to control it, or convince you to accept my opinion of it as yours.

I recognize this, and realize the more that I try to control things the less control I have.

So I am on a mission to relax and let life take me where it wants to.

I know one thing, me trying to control everything has gotten me no where.

I was not always like this.

I think It started when I began working from home.

I live in a rural setting with just a few neighbors, and crappy ones at that.

So I have a lot of thinking time, which has led to stress and anxiety.

I am going to vegas for my first time, and believe me until today I have been going thru every aspect of this trip planning and thinking about every detail. Trying to control the outcome.

It is driving my wife crazy and is causing major stress. Taking the fun out of the trip before we even start.

So I will try and relax and let what happens ... Happen.

Thanks again for all the wisdom in this thread. :)

Haha you sound like my girlfriend also a control freak when it comes to holidays :P I just life life day by day and see what comes on my path.

I know how you feel bro. I was in the same position and really couldn't let things flow. On recommendation I picked up the following book about letting go.. pick it up and read it on the plane ride to vegas and you'll be alright.
