Anonymous Hacker Group supposedly taking down Facebook Site today?

Someone above said even with all botnet of the world, it can't take down Facebook. Well i doupt about that first. DDOS is simultaneous connection, so even if they have 500 millions members or even 1 billion, there are 500 millions zombies computers out there...

If those 500 millions goes to facebook, i seriously doupt that facebook has an infrastructure to hold them all together at the very same time.

DDOS is a combinaison of simultaneous connection as mentionned above so this is fixed number. But what if you increase the power of each single connection, to take down with a lower number of machines ?

Recently, an old exploit kicked in with SSL which cause an infinite loop asking for the certificate, it is more ressourceful and some people say with one land internet connection you can take down a server with a tool. I won't give the link of it but it is publicly released...

Nice logic but nobody has a botnet with 500 million computers I can assure you. I was in the AV Security business business and have seen the research numbers (Wikipedia puts the largest at 30,000,000)! Also, not all are available at the same time since people do turn off their infected machines!

PS Facebook looks just fine although I hate the SOBs!

It's not impossible. I always thought Google was impossible to take down, but go read about when Michael Jackson died. Google thought it was under attack because so many people were searching for how he died etc.

That being said.

1. I laugh at how V For Vendetta is now this big cult classic when it is so far off from the actual Guy Fawkes story it isn't funny. The masks are just ridiculous and have no actual bearing on the original (true) story.

2. The original Guy Fawkes was trying to take over the monarchy to put a Catholic as the head of the country. So already we are talking about religiously motivated movements that Anon oh so hate.

To me this is like looking back in 500 years time and saying that 9/11 is now this big folk story and let's make a movie about it and glorify religiously motivated killing.

If google can be hacked then FB can be hacked IMO.

I would not want to be the one that does as I am sure they would stop at nothing to track that person down.

Well even if they take FB down... it will be for something like 2 minutes...
Anonimous doesn't have the power to take them down - thats for sure!

If Russia or USA says that they are taking FB down I guess it could happen... basicly blowing their servers off with somekind of rockets, etc. haha

However, I dont think anyone is capable of taking FB down with a hack attack...
