Anonymous Hacker Group supposedly taking down Facebook Site today?

Remember a few months back there was talk about a group of hackers supposedly going to take down facebook on this date. Anyone think it's going to happen?

yea i remember that nonsense, i mean i would love to see fb down so the world could freak out. but i doubt it.

If you watch all the videos made by them. Even the one were they toke the church website down. When the lady and Anonymous was on skype on the news live and she was saying god will keep the site up... And Anonymous toke 4 of her domain names down with in a few seconds. There claim was they do not just take sites down. And they only toke playstation network down because they never let them mod the playstion styem. There would be no point in taking facebook down... And such claims are just wrong.... playstion network and facebook are 2 different things... Playstion brought out new updates which stop users from playing copys and even stoped users from having custom backgrounds on there ps3s and thats why Anonymous toke the network down because they wanted to make a stand that we should have a right to edit things even our backgrounds on our ps3s.
 
I think they underestimated FB, or overestimated their own abilities.
 
waiting for it to be real, i hate fb.the reason im stuck there is only for my friends who i talk too , fb addicts :D

Yes. They just DDoS the sites, but they don't understand Facebook is basically built to withstand being DDoSd by every computer in existence, so that is why it is unlikely to work. Facebook has unintentionally being taken down by special offers from large companies in the past, but I think Facebook stepped up their game since then.
 
Why not create a rival to facebook and destroy it that way. With all their skills and determination they could easily put facebook out of business with a rival.

I though people were servants of God and not God the servant of people :p It seems God is the Super Administrator on the Life On Earth Forums and every noob is bitching at him for whatever reason. :D
 
This is very possible,However i dont see it happening.I remember a few years ago FB was actually hacked via SQLi...
 
I don't think there is a sufficiently large enough botnet to create the necessary DDoS attack to take down FB. Even if there was one that large the owners are using it to make money by spamming and wouldn't waste their time by trying to piss off FB.
 
Whoever talked about PS and Facebook above, they are different. The reason they wanted to take down Facebook was because of the privacy settings and the sharing of that private information. If I'm not mistaken, it was just in an Anonymous IRC, so I don't believe it was an actual threat. But today would be the day if it happened.
 
naa. i seriously don't think that they will try to take down facebook.
it's damn hard though..
