Fastest way to lose weight?

ok I know a thing or two about this and have helped several friends loose 20-30 lbs.
here is what you need to do.

Training: Training 45 minutes H.I.T training search for it on youtube.
Basically long distrance running or iight cardio will not get it done.

You need to raise your heart rate up and build muscle. H.I.T training is the fastest
way of doing that with the minimal amount of time.

Drink half your body weight in ounces each day. Eat 5 small meals per day
Cut carbs after 3pm.

each meal have a protein, vegetable and complex carbohydrate.

If you do this for 90 days you will be in the best shape of your life guaranteed.

Long time frame for me :/

ahahahahahahah loving that last part LOLZ :D

Googled it... seems interesting ... especially that fat blender ... i wonder how it would be if you mix that with gym ...hmmmmm

ahahahhahahahahhahahahah VIVA BHW

3 months might be a long time-frame for you, but this is where the scientific part comes into it.

It's universally accepted that there's 3500 calories per pound of fat. That means, for every 3500 calories you over-eat (based on your BMR; I'll get into this in more detail in a moment), you'll add on a pound of fat, and likewise, lose a pound of fat for every 3500 deduction based on your BMR.

BMR stands for basal metabolic rate, which is the amount of calories your body needs in a single day to remain in the same shape without doing anything (e.g. in comatose). It's calculated based on your height, weight and age.

This is usually adjusted by being multiplied by a factor of 1.2x - 1.9x (I believe), to account for the kind of lifestyle you lead; e.g. sedentary where the only real exercise you might do is walking around the office and your house).

For example. I'm 17, I weigh 205lbs and I'm 6"1'. My BMR is 2155 calories (the amount I would need to remain in the same shape if I was in comatose), which is then multiplied by 1.2 (as I'm a rather sedentary person), to give a figure of 2585 calories.

I can eat 2585 calories a day (adjusted by perhaps 2 - 5% to account for calorie averages on packets and what not, just something I personally do), without putting on or losing any weight.

What I'm trying to illustrate (aside from imparting a little scientific basis behind weight loss) is that there's a maximum to how much weight you can lose in a given period of time, especially if you want to be safe.

Personally, at my calorie requirements, I wouldn't go anywhere under 1300 calories a day to be safe. So let's say I consume 1300 calories a day, I've now got a deficit of 1285 calories per day. I need a loss of 3500 calories, per lb of fat, which means that I'm losing 1lb ever 2.7 days, with a total loss of 2.57lbs per week.

Personally, I want to lose an additional 15lbs. On the basis of 2.57lbs of weight loss per week, it'll be at minimum 6 weeks before I reach my goal.

That's a basic breakdown of the science and mathematics behind losing weight, but by no means a thorough look into the subject. It's nice to think it's that easy, but adjustments need to be made when you factor into account;

  • Muscle loss. While you'll be burning fat, there's also a significant potential to lose muscle mass too, especially if you don't intake enough protein and do some mild form of strength training.
  • BMR calculations are universally accepted, but there are three different methods of calculating adjustments for lifestyle types, each one +/- 50 to 75 calories or so. Make sure whatever calculation you use, you use it consistently.
  • As your weight drops, your BMR will also drop, and thus the speed at which you can lose weight.
  • Etc.

Resources for the OP, and anyone else who wants them;

  • BMR Calculator (for calculating your BMR, make sure to multiply your result accordingly, details of how to do so on the next page).
  • BB Forums (hands down the net's most important and well organized forum for fitness training in general. Is meant to be specifically for BodyBuilders, but cutting (the slangish term for burning fat) is a key part of a BodyBuilder's regimen and as such there's a lot of great details on how to lose weight)

OP, I really wish you luck on your weight loss journey! I don't know how much you have want to lose, but whatever it is, I hope you don't falter :). A lot of people go into weight loss thinking they can control the majority of it by exercise, but in my opinion, weight-loss is at least 80% if not more diet based.

Again goodluck!

look up Etkins diet...I'm on the 31st day and already lost 8.6kg ;)

the main idea...drop bread, sweets, potatoes or anything which is full of carbohydrate...you can eat much meat as you wish...

you can easily find a table with the carbohydrates in each food...try to minimize it and you're good to go...

also, make sure to take vitamin c, some kind of multivitamin and drink magnesium...

it works for me, it will work for you too!

pm if you need any help :)

regards,
z

Working on it :-) will pm u soon ;)

Down your carbs like a motherfucker. Figure out your BMR (post somewhere above), and then reverse calculate how many calories you need to eat to gain a pound.

You really want to make sure you don't go with average flow of a relatively skinny person who wants to look more built (I assume you're looking for lean/builtish muscular figure), but thinks he can do it purely by eating. Make sure that your getting a sufficient amount of protein, and make sure you're hitting the gym.

That is AMAZING ! Too much info, but based on my skimming that is scientific :) Rep +

why would you do that to yourself? Losing weight that way won't get you healthy.
the best results Iv ever seen are from dieting & running + weight training but if you don't have a gravel road it's going to kill you now or in the future.

I would advise in getting a jump rope and some dumbbells and eating only eggs, Fish and vegetables you can add whey protein and a multivitamin.

healthy living is a lifetime commitment I've been going to the gym 5-6 days a week I don't remember the last time I had a soft drink but I do eat junk on weekends.

If you want the quickest way to lose weight get yourself a juicer like ShiftySituation said and go running in the +40 humidex weather for about a 1 hour a day ( none of that treadmill shit) OR drag the bike from the gym into sauna and pedal for an hour (you'll need supervision)

Remove fast food, pizza from your life. Run in the morning min. 10 minutes, drink more water.

Will take that as a long term shot :) but i completely agree with you on that my way of losing weight is the shittiest

I already did :S

Complete my CPA offer to reveal :D lol

I fight regularly and need to cut a fair bit of weight from time to time, I see thousands of fads all the time - but one of the above posts state run run run

Well I can see a comparison between weight loss and IM

The answer is obvious not necessarily easy, with IM the guys that are successful put in the hours - long hard boring link building but in the end it all ways pay off, but the general public (nubees) want to press one button and cash flys out the CD drive.

Weight loss and fitness same story - the lard assess want the easy answer - buy this tablet or new fitness thingy off QVC - and you have abs of steel, they dont want to hear cut the calories and regualrly run - everyday rain or shine.

So when you step back and look at the big picture you see wealthly - fit guys and girls because they know what to do and do it - and you will also see the same fat poor people that also know what to do but dont do.

Sad but true - sorts the men from the boys - wealth from the poor - clever from the thick - successful from the losers....

it a cliche but winners never quit and quiters never win....

Start smoking :D
NEVER!

Nice comparison you have got there ;-) I love to do hard work, but i want guaranteed stuff

A lot of people eat when they're bored. I was overweight all my life, but getting into SEO = forgetting to eat = goodbye extra pounds. And that's after all the workouts and diets failed.

I am starting the diet now

Either go out and buy, or look for a download of Tim Ferriss's The Four Hour Body. It teaches you to lose weight, build muscle, and do tons more things to your body.

It's focused on the Pareto Principle (the 80/20 rule), where 80% of the results come from 20% of the effort.
